Cabal server only runs on Centos?

    Question Cabal server only runs on Centos?

    I can install the full server in debian or any other version of linux?
    Why in centos?

    If you take a look on tutorials...you will get your Answere....

    CentOs is used,coz CentOS is the most Stable/compatible OS tu run this server...

    please check the Tutorial section for more information...

    Other versions of linux can be used but there are some possible problems in doing so. Ubuntu is one people seem to want to use but as it is based on Debian and not Red Hat linux it has no support for rpm files and you have to use the "alien" command to convert and install the rpm files.

    If you get dependency errors when installing the cabal files you are going to have to work out the corretc packages you need as the ones supplied with the server files are also for Ret Hat and will probably not work on non-Red Hat based linux. They even cause problems if using centos 5 instead of 4 as the ones supplied are for Red Hat 4 only. The names of the libraries should be very similar no matter what distro you use though.
