Cabaltoolz is quite good at hiding error messages. Go into you php.ini and set the following two values (remove the ; if they have one before them):

log_errors = On
error_log = syslog

Now your errors will be written to the event logs which you can then see in the event viewer in control panel->admin tools->event viewer. Even if Cabaltoolz hides the errors you now have a way of seeing them.
