You should post the logs...
you can find them in /var/log/cabal under centos.

Seeing it time out is useless to us we need proper information that only the log files can give us as Moonfly says. Without those logs we are just guessing which if the dozen or so reason is the cause.

My guess is the incredibly common "sql server does not exist" as people have a bad habit of just installing sql 2005 express and expecting it to work without checking the guides.
