Hi chumpywumpy,

:blushing:I'm feeling sooooo noob !:blushing:
I passed on Win7 few months ago and...never had the problems I had with XP's firewall so I thought it was disabled as I said in installation but...it wasn't :scared:...
I ashamed for bothering all of you BUT !!! even when it's off, "Database connect success!" appears in logs BUT i still can't connect...

Here are all the answers to you advices :thumbup: :

I blank my MAC Address but here is my ipconfig /all result
ipconfig /all

I runned cabal_config again to screenshot the conf :
cabal conf

You suggested to try Telnet 192.168.0.10 1433 :

And I uploaded test_sql.sh with the attached txt. Executed it gave me :
./test_sql.sh

Obviously, you understood I'm in bridged networking...

Here are the logs (in attachement) when I have connect success but sill no connexion with client. (stupid) Windows Firewall Off and Antivirus OFF

As you see I keep working on it, not only waiting for your help :D:

I found the problem I had in the procedure to remove linked server :

- I deleted manually the linked Server
- Modified cabal_sp_newchar and cabal_sp_delchar with given content.
- Executed the query to add linkedserver. I changed DB password and 'NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM' with 'AUTORITE NT\Système' (French MS SQL...).

Even with that I still can't log in.
I made few tries and noticed that trying to log in doesn't generate any trace in logs...
I just have a new line in DBAgent_24 with "Database Connect success!"
Other logs don't get any new info.

Everything on the server looks perfect now and the SQL test is working fine as well so it can connect and password encryption is working. If you leave the server running a few minutes longer you will see a few extra database connect success messages. You will probably see some errors about war results but this is normal as you don't have any for it to read yet.

Your internal.txt looks fine too and it is in the data folder of your client yes? Are you using the start-cabal.bat file to launch the game (it won't work without that as it reads a different config file)? As the server can now connect to SQL it should be able to connect the other way around as far as I can see. Unfortunately Win7 doesn't have telnet anymore so you can't use that to check port 38101.

Download putty.exe from here if you don't already have it (just the top download link):

Start putty and you will see a lot of options but don't worry as you can ignore most of them. Just add your centos IP in the "host name (or ip address) box, change the port to 38101 (your loginsvr port) and set the connection type to Telnet. Click Open and the screen should go blank to confirm it connected or tell you that it failed.

The linked server is only used when creating/deleting chars so don't worry about that for now. The first thing is to get login attempts to show up in the loginsvr log and unless internal.txt is in the wrong place or you aren't using the batch file to load Cabal I can't see any reason why it won't.

I have great news ! Everthing works fine now !
Dunno what happened to internal.txt but when i opened it for the 100th Time, server ip was 127.0.0.1.

Once corrected i managed to connect and create character. Durring te connection to thé world, i had a corrupt file MSG for world01. After mixing few clients (it was a huuuge mess).

After all those days, my char us finally walking on m'y private server floor !

I have a last question...i know i may not be in the best place here but...forgive me plz.

I tried gmtools 2 : doesnt allow me to save changes i do on the character
I tried gmtools 3 : tons of antivirus alert come out on extraction.
Gmtoolkit : doesnt allow level change and its a mess for items

What im looking for is a tool or/and guide to create items (With slots crtical or other...)
I also looked for but t fin thé tool/guide for charters conf (lvl, skills, rank)
Again forgive me for asking here :s

Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off -> Enable "Telnet Client"

I just use putty as i have it anyway. It would be better if it was installed by default as it used to be though.

The current version of my gm tools v2 (it sounds like mine) can't actually save yet. This is coming soon ;)

Creating items isn't as easy in cabal as it is in other games because items are all in binary format. Only a few tools in the releases section have proper item creation and mine rely on you knowing the binary and being able to convert that to an itemidx/itemopt. The Binarymass tools or balq's tools are probably what i would recommend in the releases section. Item binary guides are available and Clust3r's is best (search on topic author).

I really need to update my tools :(

I'm using GMTools 3 that I found on this guide
Extracting generates dozens of antivirus alerts

About creating items, I'm going to look for Clust3r's topics as you suggest.

NB : To resum what happened for the ones who would read this thread :
- Disabled Win7 firewall.
- Checked IP (Win7 & CentOS) and default GW (CentOS).
- Ping both ways
- use the good client with correct internal.txt filling.
