    CentOS Errors

I'm getting an error when opening my CentOS 6.4 using VMWorkstation 10 after I install the server files using winscp.

"Could not update ICEauthority file /home/cabal/.ICEauthority"

"There is a problem with the configuration server.
    (/usr/libexec/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited with status 256)"

    and

"Nautilus could not create the following required folders: /home/cabal/Desktop, /home/cabal/.nautilus.
Before running Nautilus, please create these folders, or set permissions such that Nautilus can create them."

    Re: CentOS Errors

If you don't have enough knowledge in Linux I suggest you to reinstall it. Probably you mess something with permissions.

    Edit.
When you install Linux, do not name your user 'cabal' use different name. Because cabal repack will edit later ur user and will appear problem like now u have...

    Re: CentOS Errors

I already reinstall it using a different user, also done reinstalling the cabal server, reboot centos, no problems, but the user that I put didn't change. I thought cabal repack is suppose to rename it? Also I try logging in to Cabal and I can't. It's says can't connect to server.

I also wonder if I input the correct MSSQL server IP. Can you tell me how to know your MSSQL IP so that I can check if it's correct?

    Re: CentOS Errors

    It's local server?
Then on Windows where you have SQL Server open command prompt and type 'ipconfig' there you can find ur local IP address.

    Re: CentOS Errors

Ok so I change my SQL server to log on to my local system so it will have the ip address of my VMWare Network Adapter. I try testing it by using a gm tool and inserting the ip address of my vmnet and it connect. But how about my question about cabal repack changing my user on centos?

When I setup centos it ask me to put a "Full Name" and "Username". The first time I setup it I use root as my user but it gives an error saying that I can't use that as a username because it is a name that the system will use (not sure about the exact error). So are you talking about "Full name" or "Username"? If your telling me to use root as the username, how?

    Re: CentOS Errors

You can skip that full name and username..

Root is CentOS's main User and allready exists..

It only needs a password that you needed to input before.

How to skip it? I enter a password and leave the full name and user name blank, but I can't click next.

    Re: CentOS Errors

During installation it asks you what the root password should be, there are only 2 fiels and you enter the password twice.

Ummm.. I'm not sure I understand what you said. I entered my password twice because, one for "Password", and another for "Confirm Password".

    Re: CentOS Errors

The password is used for both user and root account
You blind ? Connect with root and the password you set. The repack does not change your user name ..
