Creat ep8 server without a router?

I am wondering if i can creat ep8 server without router, a test server(I'll play alone).

Use VMwares NAT or Host only, I recommend Host only.

I have not tried this as I do not need it but I believe it is possible and should work,

Physical machine IP (your WAN IP 39.640.30.15 or what ever it is)
(Install MSSQL on your physical machine to save resources and configure the IP instead)

VMware CentOS IP (host only or nat:192.168.189.128)
VMware MSSQL IP (host only or nat:192.168.189.129)

Use the IP of VMware CentOS to connect.
