    GM-Tool over Hamachi possible?

    Hello RaGEZONErs,

i want to ask you this, because i´m working on a server with my friend. And at the last Server i helped, i couldn´t use GM Tool (Any) through Hamachi. I think that Hamachi blocks the request of SQL Access on the Server PC.
The log of the java GM Tool said me, that SQL blocks TCP/IP requests, but i allowed it on the installation of MSSQL 2005.

Any idea how to fix it? Can i put the DB on Xampp, and when i do something with the GM Tool, it updates the DB in MSSQL?

    Thanks.

When connecting to SQL on a hamachi based server you must have the windows SQL computer in the hamachi network and connect the gm tools to the sql server hamachi ip.

Make sure that your mssql server is listening on all ips. Use netstat to make sure.

I made a screen on which you can see CMD (netstat) and the SQL Connections.

I hope this will give you more information.

The 5.1.212.10 is definitely the windows one and not centos? Can you ping the IP address? Remember the computer you have the gm tools on must also be logged into the hamachi network as only those logged into the network can access other ip addresses on it.

    Re: GM-Tool over Hamachi possible?

It is the Hamachi IP of the windows machine where the server is running on. But WHY the hell do you know that? I can´t see that ip on the screen OO.
And yes, the windowss computer is in hamachi, and i´m too, but i cannot connect to the database with the gm tool.

Maybe windows firewall is blocking him, or if you use windows server 2003 you didn`t configure it properly!

That was a really senseless post.
If he got 6 GMs, and all want to do something with the GM Tool, what to do then?...

a true gm is the person that has direct access to the database, not by using crappy gm tools.

    Re: GM-Tool over Hamachi possible?

    As Cypher Said...

A real GM has Access to DB and can Edit it that way...

    BTW...
It can be Much easier to Setup a Local Webserver(by search butten on this Forum, you will find a guide about handling that...

then, on dynDNS,you let redirect you on this webserver...

just on thing to do....edit the local Website...you can find a really good one from sir Jhon_d , or from sir Chumpy, or from many other good developer of this Forum...

on the Website you have Admin-Panel..and GM-Panel...

    Regards...
