well i think the problem is the localhost or 127.0.0.1 adress which is trying to connect to my server can i change the localhost adress to my ip?????? or 127.0.0.1 can i change this??

No run cabal_config and when he asks for sql machine`s ip enter it`s ip: eg: 192.168.xxx.xxx

well im a ran online developer but i think they have the same configuration but this is much complicated than the ran online. it has many things to do before you can actually succeed the connection. so im using Microsoft sql 2008 i think it will work. my sql name is my Computer name like "Example" not "Example"\SQLEXPRESS so can i put my sqlname not IP in cabal_config??? and also im having proble with fix centos. it's like lagging if i run centos with vmware and cabal online. the centos crashes. can you help me with that??? what centos will i use??? my platform is windows 7.

this problem is very common because you need a good computer to handle both vmware and cabal,just use this computer to setup the server and connect to cabal from another computer,also you wont be able to connect to the server on the same pc,if you setup centos with wan ip..

I use Win7 x64 with a router. I only have a dual core @ 2.6ghz with 4gb of ram but cabal runs perfect with a handful of people online (my connection at home won't hold too many).

Don't edit ini files by hand as many of the configurations are supposed to have 127.0.0.1 (itself), only 2 locations should have another ip and that is odbc.ini and IPAddress=/AddrForClient= in the worldsvr ini and these are set up by cabal_config.

Sql2008 should work but i have never tested it myself, i do know that xp_md5 won't work with it though and you will have to use the 64-bit fix in the releases section (page 3/4 i think). Centos 5.x is recommended.

Make sure you can ping both ways and that sql has remote connection switched on as remote connections are off in the surface area configuration tool.
