All you need to do is run cabal_config and let it detect your wan ip. It knows which ip you should be using and in v2.8 it even tells you the difference between the two ip addresses it (should) find.

What Is My IP Address? Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more...
You IP change usually 1 time per day, so the best way is to work with dyndns.
