Help to create vmware centos to ip external

Hi friends, I have contacted you because I need assistance, I am trying to mount a full server, but I want to work with external ip. vmware and install without problems, now is not how to make the vmware has an external ip so users can connect directly. (My pc has external ip in windows ok)

I have never tried this way to be honest but you would need to manually specify the IP/subnet/gateway for centos by typing "setup" form a terminal/putty. You would need to have a proper IP from your ISP for this too you can't just pick any IP you like.

How to set vmware's networking up for this will depend on your network type (router/modem) just as it does to do it the "normal" way. I can't offer much help there having never tried it and it would probably take me a bit of time and swearing to get it working. I think the vmware community forums would be the best place to look for this sort of info as somebody there is bound to have set a server up in this way.

and it is not possible to mount the full single server on windows?

or another option would be for users to connect to the ip of windows and the links to the internal ip centos?


because my computer has an external ip in windows ... I thought that a solution can be put another computer with centos computer to function as principal and the fair people can join there, but then the other servers I have in windows would be eliminated and not what I want, I want my wow server also works for external ip, since I have it running so long

No it is not possible to have a full server under windows as the cabal executables are for linux only. The nearest i have got is cabal running under coLinux but that is still emulation and i personally question the stability of that at best.

The whole idea of vmware is that you don't need to do any of this. You use your external IP as normal and when connections come in on the ports used by Cabal VMWare redirects the connection to centos is it's internal LAN IP.

Staff was only way to run it through vmware is with hamachi? : (
