Hey people of RageZone!

Ive have a query.
I have setup cabal server (EP8) using VirtualBox and CentOS 5.8 which works fine, all services up and running.

This is my problem, I cannot find a suitable client! I have tried CabalMachine client, no worky, tried TG8, no worky. I have errors with either XTRAP or GAMEGUARD.

People seem to be using these clients without any problem. Is it just me??

I start the game with batch file:

start cabalmain.exe breaklee ( and tried husky ).
What I get now that I have tried other ways is that item.enc cannot be found or is corrupt when it is clearly there.

WTF!

if you edit/add something on the item.enc or cabal.enc, the enc's file hashes will be changed and the cabalmain you were using from that client has xdata file check enabled. so you need to use the Punky's cabalmain and remove the file check on it before you can make some modifications on your client.

I have used TG's Client and first had an error from GameGuard saying basically couldn't continue because of 'cmd.exe'. I guess this occurred because I ran cabalmain from a batch file.

I didn't edit any files at this point. Only after the error message was displayed. Me trying to get the client working.

Any more suggestions please?

try to update your cabalmain to ver. 374 where in file hashes has been disabled. http://forum.ragezone.com/f459/cabal...d-bugs-909642/ . and update your sql files found on ACCOUNT dbo.cabal_client_version_table change from 369 to 374. and also update your loginsvr.ini, change client_version=374.

How do you change the dbo.cabal_client_version_table to 374??? Im currently getting the message when logging in 'the game will close to recieve an update' then exits and nothing happens.

if you're using cabalmain ver374, change the default version in your account database from 369 to 374.

Another update, now can log in to client but not getting any further when trying to select a channel.

Nothing happens when you choose a channel to connect to. Press connect and nothing happens, and double click on channel and nothing happens.

Typical problems or just me??

I have encountered this, check ip inside your worldsvr_xx_xx and/or try service cabal config again.

Done all the necessary checks. This is what is bothering me. Now I have a lot of experience with the old EP2 server and SQL2000 but cant seem to get this working.

Maybe its a client issue? Is there any way to check how the database is connecting with the server? Do you still need to input the MD5 hash dll into the database?

I now have tried another client but now before loading, get the error 'CGlobalMgr::CheckValidData()##version Fail## cabal_msg.enc'.

Anyone seen this before and yes I tried GOOGLE and to no avail! ;-)

You could do it, your much better than me...try using this cabalmain http://forum.ragezone.com/f459/new-s...d-10-a-920987/. This cabalmain was already unpacked and hash checks were disabled.

Ahh finally! Got the buggar working!! ;-)

Basically, if your server is working fine, then:

1) Donwload TGClient (link above)
2) Keep the same cabalmain that is with this client (no need to edit the client at all unless your adding stuff to it)
3) Create internal.txt using the guides from this forum
4) Wham bam, thankyou mam!

Good to go!
I think where I was going wrong was where I was using cabalmain version 379 but didnt work. SO keep this cabalmain 369 and dont change anything.
