Xtrap no because the server is an xtrap disabled version. You can use an xtrap protected client but nothing stops people using an unprotected to get onto your server so xtrap is a complete waste of time for us.

GG is a different story as the server has GG libs and the server and client can both be protected. I know that unencrypted exes can't log in when GG is enabled on the server too which is what we want.

I am actually looking at getting GG working at the moment and will be posting my findings here soon to see if others can help with the final details. I have a GG server and i can get a GG protected client past login but not onto the channels (421 error).

My theory is simple. Our servers have GG libs up to version 52 but i know the current version is higher. The GG files i am using are the latest ones and i think our server can't use the newer versions. I have a set of GG files from around the age of our servers but i am missing one critical file (updtae.cfg), this file is kept on the server and holds hashes of all of the GG files. As this file isn't in the client-side GG files unless we can encrypt the cfg file again i don't think older files are going to be of any good.

Using GG files from another game *may* work but the game name in the .cfg file must match the .ini file.

In short maybe one day soon but not quite yet.
