ifconfig loopback?

    Ok so im following that guide. And when i get to the SQL Server 2005 Surface config part i get this error:

    But i know i have sql installed on this machine cause SQL management can connect no problem.

    as far as i know if you put in centos your wan ip you cant connect with cabal on the same pc,and if you did the setup of centos corect that means you messed something up at mssql,enter chumpy's code in mssql in a new querry in any db and see if it's instaled corect,if not follow chumpy's guide carefull..

    So you mean if the centos is set up properly and if u look in my login log up there ull see im trying to connect. I cant connect to cabal on this machine? Ill have to use my laptop?

    I know i installed MSSQL 2005 properly. The only thing i didnt do was the surface area config cause i get this error:

    Check server IP (Must be a IP not a hostname) and make sure your username and password are correct. 
    
    Also make sure no firewall is in the way.
    The IP is 127.0.0.1 and i know the User and pass are correct. I see it clear as day in my MSSQL server management

    well i'm not very good in reading logs,but try to setup centos with WAN ip,then connect to cabal from another PC,also you have to forward the ports,
    (here is the link to the guide).Try that and tell us the results.
