    In Understanding the General Stuffs

I read through alot of guides and thread, I just need to confirm some of the things with you guys.. Anyone can answer these question? thanks!

    1. what server client or version is used to connect to the server? I have a full 3+gb of SG MY version with the latest update.. can it be used to connect to the server that I make?

    2. If that cannot be used.. then should I use the one from then "Guide Forum" with all those chinese client setup and GP clients.. or the snowman's guide client which is just 34+mb..? -.-"

You can use any client, but you must understand that the patch is what controls everything. The client enc files have a copy of almost all of the server data and if your enc files do not match the server you get crashes. As each different Cabal (EU/US/BR) uses slightly different values in the enc files we replace the enc files from whatever client we have with a set that match the server.

Technically any client will do. I woud suggest avoiding up to date clients as our serve code is old and an updated client will have a bunch of stuff the server simply doesn't support. I have never seen any problems caused by this but to be sure i use a non-updated OGPlanet client myself and the client patch found in /etc/cabal/docs on the centos server. The GP client that gets mentioned here a lot is really just a pre-patched OG client.

34Mb is far too small for a client so i would guess that is just a patch. I wouldn't suggest using it as i don't think Snowman ever got a server working despite writing 2 part-completed guides. My patch/enc files are popular and so it saur0n's.
