try to reinstall your SQL and make a clean install
I will set up tomorow a test server under mssql 2012
And yeah,this really sucks
SQL Server 2005 Express Edition Overview
Before you do that you should upgrade the compatibility level of your databases, see my threat.
Well,i installed MSSQL 2005 Enterprise,i gaved it to use up to 3 GB RAM,and now after 150 players on,i have LAG,well...now is not anymore from the RAM,maybe you could tell me from what is it?
And some guide if you have free time.
Are you shure that 100mbps are enough to sustain 100+ players in the server and i presume the site runs to on the machine yes?
So you have the server running on a virtual machine?
We have the server on centos and running vbox with windowsxp with mssql2005
We hadve daily minimum 50 players and this sunday durring the event we reached 80 players but no lag issues.
No lag issue to me too,after 140-150 players online,the game start to lag,not in game but when login,sometimes players get failed to connect,and i checked the logs,no error,or something wrong.
Do you make use of linked servers?
I have one linked server (GAMESERVER) the one from chumpy mssql 2005 guide,just this one,but is not really used,only when i access the account characters from BALQ EDITOR because the linked server was removed from stored procedures.
This is exactly what i sayd!
I already did this,i create a LINKED server because without that the BALQ TOOLZ can't open the ACCOUNTS
"Tools>Account>Characters" Account Name Search,this function.
Even if i remove the LINKED SERVER,the cabal server will still working without problem,as i told you the LINKED SERVER is used only for my BALQ TOOLZ.
For me what i have experienced is 500players ++ online doesn't lag at all
What kind of server are you using,i was wondering which dedicated server are you using though,i don't see any problem with my previous dedicated server with 100mbps connection with 8gb of rams allocating 4gigs to CentOS and others for background of the server.
Do check your worldsvr.ini which it shows the updatetime which is usually run
"UpdateInterval=300000" Which is a basic setting of 300000 <--- equals to 300seconds
If you set it lower than that,it will cause laggs i have tried that before.
Somehow, my mssql was express edition as well,so i don't see any problem with it.
I don't think it's the sql that's limiting the resource usage though.
Some more the web was hosted on the same dedicated server,so i couldn't see what was really wrong with it though cheers
Source : I have my own server a couple of years ago.
Well this is my :
UpdateInterval=300000
So i don't think that is from there...
