    Re: Server Lag

I have one linked server (GAMESERVER) the one from chumpy mssql 2005 guide, just this one,but is not really used, only when i access the account characters from BALQ EDITOR because the linked server was removed from stored procedures.

    Re: Server Lag

This is exactly what i sayd!
I already did this,i create a LINKED server because without that the BALQ TOOLZ can't open the ACCOUNTS

    "Tools>Account>Characters" Account Name Search,this function.

Even if i remove the LINKED SERVER,the cabal server will still working without problem,as i told you the LINKED SERVER is used only for my BALQ TOOLZ.

    Re: Server Lag

For me what i have experienced is 500players ++ online doesn't lag at all
What kind of server are you using,i was wondering which dedicated server are you using though,i don't see any problem with my previous dedicated server with 100mbps connection with 8gb of rams allocating 4gigs to CentOS and others for background of the server.

Do check your worldsvr.ini which it shows the updatetime which is usually run
    "UpdateInterval=300000" Which is a basic setting of 300000 <--- equals to 300seconds
If you set it lower than that,it will cause laggs i have tried that before.

Somehow, my mssql was express edition as well,so i don't see any problem with it.

I don't think it's the sql that's limiting the resource usage though.
Some more the web was hosted on the same dedicated server,so i couldn't see what was really wrong with it though cheers

Source : I have my own server a couple of years ago.

    Re: Server Lag

So there's a couple of things already.
It's either the server's specification or connection.
I don't see 100players + would be affected by the database nor other problems.

Used to run 8 channels as well over here seems all were quite stable.
    Cheers

    Re: Server Lag

You stated before that there's no error in cabal logs, but how about the logs from centos, did you checked them out?
Since there's no problem within the databases, there's probably a vmware related issue, so please post here the type of vmware you are using(workstation, server), it's version and the resources allocated to your server.

    Re: Server Lag

Did you checked centos logs as I said?
You can also try to lower the ram for centos, because it may not be enough ram for windows to menage the connections between vmware and sql

    Re: Server Lag

May I remind you guys that this is not a CentOS support forum. You are expected to know how to check your system logs and debug issues. I would suggest taking this somewhere more appropriate, like the CentOS forums.

    Re: Server Lag

    I don't know why,but i guess you didn't read the topic!
@Yama,i already asked on the centos forum, and they trashed my topic with reason they don't offer support for centos with mssql...
