    So close ><

Ok basically i set up the database
Set up the CentOs with server files
    patched client

    but it wont connect me
i created users in the database
and a user for the database

    couple of dumb questions

when you have SQL IP in centOs is that localhost or is it my ip/network ip?

do i need to portforward for localhost testing?

does it matter if i used chumpy's 2.5 repack database or another (same probably) database?

is the IP when patching the client going to be 127.0.0.1 or localhost, or CentOs's IP

thanks to chumpy and a bunch of other people i managed to get this far
im pretty close! i can smell the 4slot forcium :D

The SQL ip in the CentOS will be your LAN ip ..

Try reading this .. for the ports you need to forward
    http://forum.ragezone.com/f460/a-bas...se-etc-545188/

The IP you will be using in your patch (internal.txt and serverlist.txt) will be your CentOS ip

The 3rd question .. i dont know yet how will i answer it .. just wait for someone's reply

Port forwarding is only needed if you have a router and you want outside people to be able to play. The networking guide should show you how to work out if you have a router or not.

The IP in the client internal.txt should be your WAN IP if you want external players and the centos IP if not.
