    Some more lame errors....

Ok so I completely reinstalled SQL using chumpys guide like he said and it worked so thank you chumpy. But now i have a issue where i can not make accounts, I do not know why but it is starting to piss me off.

Also i got the centos server started woot woot using the /home/cabal/cabal_config.sh or whatever and i got it working. Then i typed Service cabal reload and i get this image: (But no worries because those failed turned into Oks)

Picture of it working and loaded:

Now when i configured cabal server it said search for wam ip and i clicked yes and it said my wam ip which is this:

Ok i know my account db isnt working but i wanted to see if my client (US cabal + MMOwebs patch and changing the internal.ini to my ip) would say invalid pass or time out. If it timed out then i knew it couldnt contact my server which is on the same pc as the server

    Heres my internal.ini

Now i know thats my router ip address but i also tried 127.0.0.1 and my WAM and i still get these errors with all 3 ips.

    Thanks in advance.

Note: I know i have alot of threads needing help but if you notice the old thing i needed help with has been resolved but now i have new errors.

    Re: Some more lame errors....

The SQL one i answered and gave some tips on your other post, it's xp_md5 not working.

When doing a reload the server first stops and then starts the processes and if any are stopped you will get a fail on the stop stage. If processes are falling over after being started you need to fix that first as it will also stop you logging in. Logs are your best friend for this (/var/log/cabal).

As you have a router i would suggest testing in "lan only" mode first because of a potential problem with some routers that could stop you logging in even though everything is fine. Run cabal_config and when asked for the address players will connect to give it the centos LAN address, the script should automatically detect this as "local ip" and will default to it if you say No to it detecting your WAN IP.

This "listen" address is very important as only connections made to this address via internal.txt will work. This address and internal.txt must always match.

Once the server is set to lan mode put the same address in internal.txt. Test only in this mode until everything is working.

Once everything is working then run cabal_config again and this time give it your WAN address and the same in internal.txt. If it doesn't work don't assume the config is broken get somebody external to try it as it might for them. If it does and you can't connect you have one of these routers that can't do it and hamachi is probably the only way for now (though i am testing something that may help tese people).

Ok chumpy so i kind of got confused on the failed things... Could you explain in more noobish words, you have to remember im rusty on server development as i left for two years to learn many computer programming languages.

So how do i find my centos lan?

in centos Open a terminal then type, ifconfig
that will give you your IP address or lan address
