Why Use a specific Linux Flavor?
Wouldn't it work across all flavours and has anyone tried?

Re: Specific Linux Or Any Linux

The RPM's are designed to be installed on Redhat-based operating systems (CentOS just happens to be based on redhat). If you want to install CABAL on, say, a Debian-based OS (eg. Ubuntu), you would have to manually install everything, as the RPM's won't work properly (RPM's are only supported in Ubuntu by using Alien, but even that doesn't install the CABAL RPM's properly).
