please use chumpy`s guide and server pack, it`s more easy for newbies.
My guides are pretty complete and cover everything. I don't think snowman ever got his server working after 2 attempts at writing a guide so i wouldn't suggest using his guide. There is no simple way or simple guide that can be posted, cabal is complicated and that is all there is too it. Not everybody has all of the knowledge needed and you just have to learn.
As for a complete mssql guide you will have to either buy one or make do with google searches. The MCST70-431 study book i have for mssql 2005 is nearly 1000 pages long.

Use chumpy`s files and guides he has it all detialed....
it is pretty simple.. at 1st if u dont.. dont come back to forums and post the error.. try to think what went wrong and test 2-3 different times and i am sure u will make it..
