So hai everyone <3

I'm a noob if it comes to setting up a private cabal server, so here are few things I need help with:
First if I noticed correctly server files are developed for centOS, should I then get rid of windows XP (my current OS) and install centOS 5.2? Will I be able to host everything from there or will I still need windows for some tasks?

Next would be system requirements... how good would Q6600 2.4 GHz, 8gig ddr2 RAM perform? My internet got only 750 kb/s upload (sometimes goes to 1mb/s but that doesn't matter i think) - how meany people would be able to play without lag?

Uhm and would it be okay to host both website and cabal server from same pc or would it slow connection to mush?

I considered possibility of those question being already answered earlier in forum however I haven't slept for over 50 hours and trust me... i feel like zombie that's unable to click on search button!

Don't dump windows because you need both windows and centos for cabal. Most people use vmware to put the centos machine in and mssql on the physical machine.

Cypher's sticky posts (well all posts) have all been wiped by some idiot who thinks making a point is more important than useful and helpful posts so finding you way around is not as easy as normal. Personal feuds i understand, destruction of knowledge i don't. Expect all my posts to suddenly be wiped soon just for saying so as the guy is real mature.

Im running my server on a Q6300 @ 1.8Ghz and 2Gb DDR2 RAM.
Yours will work fine! xD!

Yeah! Use VMWARE for running CentOS from within windows itself. Saves you flattening your windows machine to run CentOS.
Unless you have a dedicated server, in which case, install CentOS as your main operating system.

If you ever come across some problems, and are about to give up, DONT! I did that too, and it took months for me to get back in buisness for cabal again. But with help from Ragezone, I got my server running!

What Im saying is, if you get errors, post them here, and we will see what we can do :3
