    vmware server 2.0 error

I am trying to install CentOS into vmware server 2.0 but i get an error while starting virtual machine for first time for installation.

i am trying to install centos 4,7 from iso fail and i have windows server 2003 in the machine where i install it.

Here are the steps i make in creating virtual machine:
operating system Linux > Other Linux 32bit
    i use 1024 ram
    add a network adapter
network connection bridged, connect at power on
use ISO image for installation (iso image is located in my datastore i created earlier)
connect with image at power on checked
dont add a floppy drive (tried with adding it also)
dont add a usb controller (tried with adding it also)
power on your virtual machine now
    Finish

    Task bar shows
    create virtual machine > success
power on virtual machine > error

    error description:
Failed to power on CentOS: A general system error occured.

iso image cant be damaged, cuz i used it with workstation before, but decided to move into vmware server.

    Any help is appreciated :)

no idea why are you getting that error. Call the guys from datacenter and make them look over it, it seems that it cannot allocate the virtual machines memory!

That should be "red hat 4". Using generic linux settings there usually results in problems reading the partitions which will probably be the cause of you error i think.

    Re: vmware server 2.0 error

still the same with red hat enterprise linux 4 and with all other red hat versions

I finally found the log files i was looking so bad by accident, i looked /vmware/tomcat/logs before cuz these were only log files i could find in vmware folder, but they didnt give any useful information
i found this log created in CentOS folder where the virtual machine was created also.
and i think i found the problem, somehow the wmare is expired, i dont know how, cuz i downloaded it from wmvare homepage yesterday with registration and reg key they gave me..

weird that it didn`t warn you with anything , at least a message box or something, good thing you figured out.
