    What to use - MSSQL2005 or MSSQL2000?

    What are you ppls using? And what better and why?
    I just wanna know what to use...

    There really isn't much difference. The cabal databases are in mssql2000 format but 2005 will run them perfectly too. 2000 is simpler to set up as a default install will work but it isn't free. 2005 express is free but a default install won't work as the default install is as a named instance with remote connectons disabled, change those two settings though and you are fine.

    I'd say use 2005, I've used both and 2005 actually seemed easier to setup.

    If you use SQL2005 i'd happily set the server up for you as i want to practice doing it but on my current PC i'm struggling to much to run VMWare.
