    windows Firewall turn it off...
    if nothings happen and its still the same..
    try to reboot you centos then try again..
    then ping

    windows IP --> Centos IP
    Centos IP <--- MSSQL IP
    both of them must ping with each other...
    and if still the same...

    try this guide:http://forum.ragezone.com/f459/collection-545201/

    That won't help since it's CentOS who rejects the connection.

    Go in your virtual machine, log in, type "setup" (without the qoutes) and press enter.
    Select "Firewall-Configuration", hit enter, select "deactivated", hit space, select "OK" and hit enter.
    Select "exit" and hit enter.

    Now retry it.
