WinSCP failed to connect centos
Hi, i had been follow all what the guides and succeeded build up a Centos in vmware, and the database too had created (add and restore).
The next step i have to do is use WinSCP as the most of the guides tell. I had build up the session in winscp but it end failed after i click log in. A windows pop up and said "Network error: Connection timed out."
I had follow as the guide teach and i had tried twice, and i missing something?
Can anyone help me solve out this problem pls?

btw, the enviroment i use is:
WinXP sp2
vmware 6 ace edition
centos 4.6 (both under ubuntu and linux 2.2.x in vmware)

The first rule of following guides is that they are not ment to be followed exactly. They rely on you understanding that certain parts of it need altering to fit your setup, like the IP addresses used. Just because a guide has a particular address in it does not mean that the address will be correct for your network and you need to work out which are correct for you.
You need to use the "ifconfig" command on your centos machine to work out the right ip address to connect to. Also, if you enabled the firewall in centos during installation then disable it as no guide i have seen suggests keeping it on.

I know the guides is not abosolute, and i think i had setup ip correctly, maybe.
I did disable the firewall during setup, but while i ping centos or using centos to ping my windows, they din't get respond at all, =(
anyone any idea?
