I had someone else try and got in game and they were able to do it with the exact same files as me but when they try to login it says unable to connect. I put my Wan IP in the internal.txt aand didn't change the ports.
your problem is prolly a bad cabalmain.exe use the 1 from your etc/cabal/docs/clientfiles..
If you use a router and a modem make sure you have ports for cabal forwarded to your CentOS ip, if it still doesnt work call your isp and ask them about setting up your modem for bridge mode so that your router can connect in pppoe.
It's not the CabalMain.exe. I don't have a router just a modem. How would I forward the ports for the CentOS IP because I can't find its IP when I check my modem.
If you have a desktop just browse to that folder and if internet works you can compress them with say tar (tar -cf archive.tar /var/log/cabal/*) and upload.
If not you will have to use "tail -f /var/log/WorldSvr_XX_YY.log. Not sure how you will post them though.
The login server is not seeing the login attempts. Strangely the worldsvrs are not showing the ip address which is a bit odd as they should always show it. There are a lot og TG related errors in there which is confusing things a bit.
Can you run cabal_config and reconfigure to a single channel config (e.g. 24), delete the old logs and try that?
Does you windows main IP address start with 192.x or 10.x?
Here's the log files again after I tried figuring things out. I don't know why it's not working. Also, for some odd reason out of the 3 people that try to get the game running only the person with Vista got it running.
There is definitely something non-standard here. Several errors i wouldn't expect to see show up and it still isn't showing the worldserver ip in the logs. The worldsvr isn't connecting to the chatnode either which isn't right.
I'll have a think about this one and will probably PM you later as i'd like to see this one myself so i know what caused the problem.
If it helps I'm using the ready-made server from dordort. Now that I know why I wasn't able to connect to the internet before using it I think I'll try installing it myself and see if that solves any problems.
I just tried doing a manual install of Cabal and I'm still getting the same problems. No one can connect and for some odd reason me and another guy can't get the game started but another 2 guys can aand they're using the exact same files. Here's the log files of it.
Ok, I've been able to solve my problem with not getting the game to start but I still have the same problem about no one being able to connect. I tried logging in and it says "Failed to connect." I've had this problem for a while now and no one seems to want to help. I've PMed chumpywumpy a couple of days ago and haven't got a reply os if anyone can help that would be very much appreciated.
