Live server and test server

Hello,

I want to know how to get my test server next to my Live server working.

I got one ip adress of my dedicated the server is online atm.

I DONT want to use VMware because im sure with hamachi and changing ports it should work to login to test server with the db of live server.

BUT i dont know what exactly to change,can any one help here?

Well I don't know if you can take as an option creating a Channel instead of a whole server set-up. A channel would be easier to set up and you could use hamachi ip so only the ones inside the vpn could access it.

I don't get what your asking? You wanna put your server up publicly to test it but for only certain people? Maybe make the accounts by hand? that way everyone else doesn't even have a way to login?

Look i got dedicated server,dekaron is running live. But i want next to it on same machine a server to login into for testing so only me can acces that TEST server no one else or staff. U understand now? So like making sort of channel or diff port .

I need to know what files exactly needed to edit and what has to be entered.

I think running VMWare or VirtualBox is the only way unless you can run server files more then twice on the same operating system. If that was the case you could just make 4 more databases cash2, character2, etc for example and have the server files point at them instead. Also not sure if server files ports are ran off ini's if they are then ya change them and you should be fine. Like i said its only if 2 sets of server files will run on the same pc. If not download VirtualBox or purchase a VMWare licence.

Make a copy of DekaronServer folder, name it DekaronServer2 or what ever you would like to.

Go to the config file and change the 'DEKARON_PORT=' to the port you would want. Also change all 'CHANNEL' options from 1 to 2.

Now go to your channellist file and create a 2nd line like this:

'0,2,<yourip>,<yourport>,SERVERNAME'

Keep in mind, your channellist can be different.

Mine has this disposition : 'Group,Channel Index,IP,Port,Name'

If all was done correctly it will power up a 2nd channel on your channellist.
