I have a server up and running, but can't connect because the when i enter the ip it says: "Failed to login: User not premium".

So, i guess you can only play alpha when you have a paid account?

(For windows 7, go to C:\Users\##USERNAMEHERE##\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft server\bin and in /bin open server.properties. In here change "online-mode=true" to "online-mode=false" and that will turn off online verification. BUY THE GAME YOU DISGUSTING HUMAN)

To play it online requires the bought version.
Playing it offline or LAN doesn't require.

Like ElMarshal said, change the online-mode:true to online-mode:false, that way you should be able to play it with your friends.
However, I think you need to use Hamachi or other to do so.

Also ElMarshal, to be honest, even I downloaded this game first, after seeing it was really worth of playing, I bought it.
Some people like to try the games before actually paying for it.

But I'd really prefer you Flowan to buy this game if you like it.
This way you shouldn't also have problems like this at all.

Same, i first tested it and then bough.
For now it's just the Alpha Version, so there will come huge updates in the future.
One Questions is there also a list for public Alpha servers?

Hehe. Well, me and some friends are ingame now. But all mobs and players are immortal lols.

Yup Minecraft's SMP is very buggy until we hit the date of October 31st for the updates to fix those. So right now its basically playing classic while getting resources.
