Wierd issue

Sorry I was really trying to refrain from posting this, but I've been thumbing through other posts and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Anyways I got this whole RO Server thing up and running. I logged in and was actually in the good ol' ragnarok tutorial place. So I was like Ok I got it all setup. Then I proceeded to give accounts GM permissions in my SQL and I copied the client files on my computer over the ones on my server computer, because the client on the server didn't have the whole xray and all that mess in it. Now I try to log back into the game and it keeps giving me failed to connect to the server errors. So I proceed to map server window on the server to see whats going on and it Shows me connecting then disconnecting after I hit a button when the failed to the server box pops up. Anyone know what might of caused this?
I'm about to just redo everything, cause I've tried many different things and keep coming up short.

Naw it had nothing to do with the IP, its running on the lan. I figured it out. Seems the server is kind of tempermental if you change the client files. So leave the client files alone and this issue will go away.

a.do you followed the guide carefully?
b.do you configured anything that r not written in the guide?
c.follow again the guide and trace if the is difference w/ the guide and ur client

go to your data folder, and edit sclientinfo. Make sure the IP there is the right one. Also, make sure all your IPs in your conf folder in ur eAthena folder r all configured and correct.
