Miscelleaneous questions for Arcturus+V799 ROSE server-client

Dear all,

I have the feeling that we will have a lot of short questions related to bugs we found in our server.
I don't think each of them deserve a section, hence this topic :) [For the specific development we will make, we will continue to create our "How to" topics].

Question 1:
A character is disconnected when going through some specific portals:
- between Zant and the Sunshine coas
- between Marsh Of Ghosts and Shady Jungle
- between Paradise of Ra and Heliopolis and Geb Desert
This happens all the time, even when walking with a char. We checked all the things we know (basically everything in 3DDATA), even edited the map, removing some monsters, changing slightly the position of the warps... Nothing worked.
We saw a lot of posts related to this topic but found no working answer for our case. Do you have any idea ?
We are launching the game through AruaGuard.exe . This is the only test we would have liked to do but didn't manage to: run the server without it.

Dont USE windows server 2008 if you dont want DC'ss

You can use 2000, 2008, 2012, it doesn't matter even if I don't recommend using 2000 and 2008 tho who have nasty leaks.

The D/C you encounter is because your warps are not correctly done.

Check list_warps.stb, each gate has its very own warp ID and has to be a precise respawn too.

There is something else I can't remember from the top of my head, but basicly thats your current issue.

I thought we have checked everything in the STB (warp IDs, zones, respaws, ... but we probably missed something !

Ultimately we may try to migrate from 2008 to something else. However, let's precise that this DC only happens when travelling through those portals. Otherwise the client is super stable.

have you checked the .zon files?

Hi all,
We've deeply checked the following:
- the .ZON files
- WARP.STB
- LIST_ZONE.STB
- the .IFO files
And this directly in the files and also thanks to a map editor.

However everything seems coherent. There are sometimes weird numbering, but it is still consistent.

i fix a bug the same as you encounter the bug but i dont remember it anymore but other didnt work try check the zon or the easy way is just simply make your on new portal ^^
are you using bratok client.?

We use Ruff client. And yeah, I think we'll have to make a new portals, even if a bit sad.

you use Ruff client thats why you are getting DC. maybe they made something protection to avoid using their client.
but im not sure about that. ^^

What is weird it's only for those TP... which were probably added at some points. I think I have the same problems for some Oro TP.
