[HELP] Do you have to use a VM?

I have VM on my Linux OS. But why run Linux on Linux? I use the VM to run test programs and programs using Windows and other OS. I use VM for programs I cannot trust so they will not mess up my current OS. I have this "Battle of the Immortals" on my Linux and run it through WINE.

My system is using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
    I have 2 GB RAM
    1 GB Video RAM
and small drive is 500GB 17% used

What in your opinion is my best method to install this server for testing?

    Thank you.

2gb is too small to do anything with anyway

realmservers alone take 500~800mb a piece.
add windows host OS and linux OS to that you'll have already capped that limit.

first invest in more RAM, and second of all. use Windows as Host OS and run linux as a HyperVM under it. do note that BOI will also put some strain on your cpu, seeing as you got 2gb of ram I doubt your CPU will be any good either.

Shortly, you will need more horses to run any server to begin with.

Re: [HELP] Do you have to use a VM?

Thank you for your advice, however the realmserver runs quite nicely in my native Linux OS. Taking no where near the amount of RAM you suggested. The windows client is taking about 320MB (the lion's share) of this little test. I found it something a challenge to move the server from the VM to my OS. But through trial and error it is working and I now have completed a personal goal. I will do more later with this when I have the time.
