    A question about the client.

    Hello there,

I've changed my computer for Christmas, and so I'm going under the whole setup guide to have my Pangya server once again. I had a working one of my previous computer with several people playing with me.

I'm stucked at the installation of the Pangya TH 480.05 : The software doesn't want to install update.cln and update.exe, there's some kind of error (all written in Thai so no idea what is it about)

First my Anti Virus was erasing those files automatically when it installed (saying it was Trojan somehow...) and then I desactivated my Anti Virus but now the install software is throwing this error at me.

If anybody has an idea of why it does that, or how to fix this or download those two files separately, it'd be wonderful.

    Thanks in advance

Re: A question about the client.

My guess is that you haven't imported the necessary registry keys (see the Common Beginner Questions topic for a simple copy-and-paste batch file).

Re: A question about the client.

Thanks for your answer Tsu', I didn't think there was something like this in the topic you mentionned, I should have read it once more :p

Now when I start the server, everything looks ok but there are two windows looking wrong. I tried to start the game, it looked like there was no problem I was on the login screen and when I log, it freezes and says something in thai (something like Login server is off or else, but Alluseropen was done beforehand even if on those screen it's not)

EDIT: Super, today seems like my projectg_lan.exe doesn't want to start saying I should use update.exe or reinstall or whatever (in Thai.) so I can't even launch the game properly now, even though the registry keys are good. I'm on the verge of giving up lol, I got headaches I didn't have when I first installed the server on my previous computer I only had minor errors due to registry keys and ODBC.

Re: A question about the client.

Regarding the server side: The first screenshot suggests that you're either missing a server.ini (vital for operation) or you're running the server through some sort of batch file, causing the working directory to change (and thus causing the server not to find the ini file). When in doubt try to unpack the original server files to another directory and check whether these files contain a server.ini for the component in question you might miss or have accidently deleted.

The second screenshot shows that the paths for logging are set to some invalid value (non-existing path or no permission to write) in your ini files. Double-check those and you should be fine. :)

Regarding the client: Can you start the client at all (as in: the game window starts and you get an error during the load operation)? Do you get an error immediatly when starting or with like 1-2 seconds delay? Are you connected to the internet while trying to start the client? (My guess is that the client tries to fetch the update xml files and fails - either because they're invalid, no longer present or you're offline)

Re: A question about the client.

Thanks for your support Tsu, I'm very grateful

I did as you recommended for the server side point, redownloaded the Py Server Repack, launched each server executables manually, seems like everything is fine, I'm joining the screen.

As for the client, the client start, black window, 1 sec delay and error update message. I'm always connected to Internet as soon as the PC is on.
I tried using the hexed client given in [v1.2] The Complete Pangya Setup Guide, it doesn't even start, no window, no error message.
So, even after reinstallation several times, I currently have 3 differents ProjectG.exe and none work, I can't try to connect ingame and see if everything is fine.

All the files I have are taken from the Wuala's Pangya folder I believe you kindly made

AW: A question about the client.

Sounds like Tsu's above mentioned issue regarding updatelist. You can simply create your own using Quickpatch. You can host it via xampp or simply upload it to your server.

Re: A question about the client.

Prereq is IIS with working ftp, preferred is à directory for utlovad which can be accessed from http.

    Simple walkthru of quickpatch:
    1. Hex edit the exe and change any reference to HDDs which are not present
    2. Start the application and configure it to connect to the ftp above
    3. Point it to à directory which contains the client you want to use
    4. Remember to select the appropriate keys
    5. Start the process and run the upload

    exe stuff:
    1. Hex the exe and point it to the www URL from above

    update.exe stuff:
    1. Hex the exe and point it to the www URL from above

writing this from memory so i might be wrong.

Re: A question about the client.

I feel bad since you took time to reply and I still didn't understand much (mostly because I've never done this and I'm french so my english is poor, I didn't get those ISS, HDD things)
I somehow can get what is the point of the operation, forcing the .exes to redirect to an FTP I'd create and upload my client on it (I do not know how to do this so I think I'll seek some tutorial on the net, there must be some)

AW: A question about the client.

Simpliest way would be using xampp or lampp, depending on the OS u use.

Re: A question about the client.

Ok I tried doing something about it so I successfully created an online FTP and put my client on there. I downloaded the Quickpatch files from Tsu's Wuala, and when I start either of the two Quickpatch.exe ... I'm totally lost :(
Plus, I'm not sure I'll be able to successfully "exe stuff: 1. Hex the exe and point it to the www URL from above update.exe stuff: 1. Hex the exe and point it to the www URL from above" I'm really bad with those, mostly because I have not really the time to learn and practice hexing, and even though it must be very interesting, I'm not in that kind of stuff... >.<

Could someone actually put an easy Quickpatch tutorial or contact me in some other way to help me step by step if they are patient and kind enough ?

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate the fact that you helped me so far !
