software WILL NEVER HELP agains DDOS.

beethink etc will block tiny dos attacks and syn flood at most.

If you jave to fight agains a ddos attack - your datacenter must install a proper hardware anti ddos systems - which will cost you a nice extra $$$.

The software is like you tryign to squeese a balloon to avoid it from getting any bigger while constantly pumping more air into it.
Hardware is more like a valve that will cut off or lower the airflow instead.
