Why you do this process twice and second time incorrectly so your system ( ODBC and SQL) get confused to communicate with each other. What I meant to say is.

Example

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\A3Friend]
"Driver"="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\SQLSRV32.dll"
"Server"="(local)" [AS YOU CAN SEE, GUIDES HAVE TOLD YOU TO PUT UR SERVER NAME IN FIRST STEP BUT YOU ARE PUTTING LOCAL INSTEAD OF UR SERVER NAME, THIS IS WHERE CONFUSION OCCURS ]
"Database"="FriendDB"
"LastUser"="sa" [ALRIGHT YOU HAVE THE ID HERE BUT WHERE IS THE PASSWORD? WHICH WAS SET IN UR SQL ]

I believe ODBC.reg is not necessary at all because you have done it manually.

Try the easy way to setup a server, after that Just Install DBE or Download it via WWW.
