As usual, before posting a new thread, I was searching for an issue that I face in a friend's server. Came across this thread in my search thus thought I could add in a question.
I was helping on a test server of a friend of mind to test his A3. One thing I realise from his client files is that in his NPC shops:
Quanato NPC sells more items e.g. crystals, larcs etc which are originally not in the normal server files.
Clorence NPC have missing items such as the usual selling of G7 and 8 gears, most are missing.
Not sure about Hatrel, didnt had the time to check it out.
May I ask what we see on our client side, is it because of this file called: GT.ull?
Will I be able to help him resolve all those extra/missing items mentioned above by asking him to replace the GT.ull of his client with the one that is showing only correct items from my other server's client?
Hope I am not highjacking any thread, If I am I apologize, as i didn't want to waste time starting another thread and felt that this could perhaps enable deeper understanding of the file.

You need to edit the server files also to add the new items. If you have it only on the client side, only the Client will show it but you cant buy those. Just follow some old guides to get it done!

thanks for replying. i don't think he want to add more things to the npc. I believe he wants back the original settings. According to what you mentioned, it is true that those item cannot be purchase, that points out that server end was not edited i guess. i think i will pass him the GT.ull so that his client will display things the original way.

If it doesnt work, you can download the ArA3 Client and the server files again and begin allover :P
1st, make sure that all the item that u see can be baught, if not, then just replace GT.ULL from the ARA3 client.
if the item can be baught such as crystal etc etc etc... download server files n go to this dir \zoneserver\zonedata\shop\*.*
replace all the text files (it should start with 4 letter digit number followed by extension txt) at the server side...

Step 1: Server Side
Go to Zoneserver/Zonedata/shop
Lets take the first file for example. Text file named "1000" - 1000 is Kaduru the armorer of Quanato.
Now for example you wanna add in Grace of Silbadu to his shop. The code of Grace is 9586. You add that in to that text file in the next.
Save it and exit.
Step 2: Client Side.
Open the GT.ull in hex editor and look for the value 1000. The following values after that are the items present in that shop. Go to the last slot ... and then enter the hex code of 9586 there and save it. You can then see it in the shop.

Convert the GT.ull to GT.bin using the a3ullconv and 1000 to hex and then try.

You need to use a different GT.ull file or edit your existing file!

Its been very nice to be a member of this forums, i gained many informations which whould be imposibble to gain anywhere else.
Now iam having one problem and i hope that you guys wil surely guide me to clear it.
I play a private server, and there many people have items like Crystals, Stabliser, Opal etc, in the NPC's.....but the problem is i dont see such items when i go to NPC.... from what i read here..i think that it is due to my client files......they dont have the proper GT.ull or GL.ull fiels in it.
So i tried to change my client files mannually.....in the way directed by some of you.
i converted GL.ull to GL.bin and to GL.txt. i see the item codes of difrent items in the text file, but i was not able to find them in .bin file when i used hex editer on it.(again i tried to do this as said by INS@NE in some post that you have to convert ul files to bin files.)
I tried to search also in the old posts..but i was unsuccesfull..
If somene can direct me to add few items in the NPC(for eg. take Kaduru)
Or can guide me to the Old Posts then i'll be grate full.
I also want to know..that we can convert GL.ull to .bin and .txt.....
and we can do changes in .txt file easily but is there any way to convert the
.txt file back to GL.ull.....Please help me on this also.

as player you should use the patch file provided by the private server, and you should ask in the forum of the private server (if any) for those files if they are truly missing.
