Goodbye
Just a suggestion and/or "food for thought"
I noticed in some posts that there are people fighting for "who has the best server" , "the most features", "who's smartest" etc.
Guys if you just fight you are only doing harm to the only A3 community there is , which is either dying slowly or struggling to survive.
Healthy competition is encouraging for people to keep trying to improve. Secrecy & rooster fights don't benefit anyone. Why should anyone worry if Mr.X is better or Mr.Y is worse, each do its best (or worse) and that's all.
Of course there will be some Mr.Zs that will only try to benefit and not offer anything back, but don't we all? Don't we use 7-zip,Firefox or other "free" software without even contributing a single line of code or documentation or anything?
So, let's just have some good time with a game we like, if communities were just fighting arenas then 100% of the open source projects would have failed because everyone was too busy fighting instead of contributing, instead many of them have grown and have become very very successful, why can't we?
There is no competition about the most feature rich server, a public internet server needs lots more than features to stay alive and be successful.
a) Dedicated people
b) Real interest
c) Motivation
d) Funding
e) Marketing
f) Resources
g) Teamwork
h) Managerial stability
i) Coordination
j) Updates, new stuff, interesting events
k) PLAYERS!
l) Good reputation which is also derived by its "managers"
m) website developers & designers
etc. etc.
So, a person or a team that is doing it for a hobby or for recreational purposes or because he was just overexcited about A3, then the project is condemned to failure.
IMHO this community has 1 simple goal, teach everyone interested how to build and support a "Full Featured" A3 server. Those capable to benefit from A3 and earn big time real WZ or good reputation in life , then......CONGRATULATIONS guys, I'm really sorry I can't join your team, I have a day job :(
Hope I changed some minds or gave some food for thought to some.

Re: Just a suggestion and/or "food for thought"
I agree with the Point, that running a good server doesnot needs only good server files.
Actually It needs Good management of server.
Many people are engaged in hacking other A3 servers.
These guys think that by Hacking they can make their server success, which is avery false perception. Your server may be a success or failure by your own management not because of competition. If your management is poor, players will rather leave your server anyhow.
If they dunt get a better server then yours, then they may shift to any other MMRPG. Huge options are available to players in gaming sector. SO Competition not only improves the gaming experience of players as well as it helps Gamemasters to improve their servers.
And Indeed A3 community and A3 game is dying slowly. The reason may be the cock fight among developers, which is causing players to leave this MMO.

I don't share my work because of some handful of bastards lurking around...who would definitely try to make shit out of those stuffs...Hacking Ahh ?how will they come to know what are they (noobs actually) & what are they dreaming of (great A3 Server) is not at all possible.. to make them realize this small token i think would be needed
as of for the so called "false perception" <-- this is definitely the conclusion people will come to after getting hacked, they will cry, Bark..in communities, forums etc etc and that's what they can do !!!
a year ago i also used to think like Chris...but u know people like divyang, Insn@e ofcourse! JUST DEMOLISHED THE MINDSET...

@MrGentle
I am not sure I understood correctly but,if this specific place is the problem, then it's damn easy to start a new community somewhere else.
The hard part is to form a group of people willing to work together and most importantly .... "HAVE FUN" with their hobby.
P.S. Everything I learned about A3 I did a copy/paste in a wiki
http://a3mmorpg.wikia.com/wiki/A3_mmorpg_Wiki
It doesn't matter who reads it and what he does with the info he learns.

Re: Just a suggestion and/or "food for thought"
Quote from Your wiki
GM Shouts
"Check GMMSG.RAR
how to set thoese two files
:
1. count.ini
CNT=(the time of gap in seconds) for exaple
NAME= (user id of the gm account logged on) for exaple
2. msg_0.ini
A3GM=(User ID of GM ID logged on) for exaple
MESSAGE= (Custome Message) for exaple
NAME=(User Id of GM Id Logged on) for exaple
COLOR=#XXXXX (Color Code of the message) for exaple
Now you need to do the following. The ZoneServers that are given out with the server files are not customized with this folder and are highly bugged and you need to set this right.
You can do this in this way. In the ZoneServer, search for the executable location and then add in the following bytes - 00 04 00 00 C5 01 00 00 XX XX XX XX (length of the message).
Apart from this change the command line of the ZoneServer by 1. For eg, if its 20 make it 21. For eg. change it from 14 00 00 00 to 15 00 00 00 "
this doesnt work....

OK, thanks for pointing it out, will flag it as "un-tested".
[OffTopic]
I haven't tested everything in the wiki. Anyone willing to help/participate is welcome to do so, that's why I put everything in a wiki which is free for everyone to contribute.
