Port Forwading for Server
Hi,
I am able to run server successfully in VMware, as my host OS is x64, and i was not able to run bde there.
Networking Mode is NAT.
Guest OS ip - 192.168.181.120
Host OS ip - 192.168.181.1
Internet IP for Host OS - 122.xx.xx.xx
Am port forwarding 7770,8880,9990,9981,8811 to guest OS (using NAT port forwading of vmware).
All *.ini are correctly configured.
Server ip there is set as 192.168.181.120
Now, am able to run A3 Client from host os and play game.
Am able to login from other pc using different internet connection to server, with a3client patched to 122.xx.xx.xx
Now problem is , Client fails to connect when anyone click on the server name after login.
Can anyone tell me what to fix and how, please?

Re: Port Forwading for Server
Zoneagent & Zoneserver ports are forwarded?
I haven't setup a server publicly before so I can't be absolutely certain.
I would forward everything for a start and then start closing.

Re: Port Forwading for Server
Well i dont see an option like * port forwading.
Btw except port forwading, all settings seem right, including server ip set as 192.168.181.120 , right?

Re: Port Forwading for Server
* is usually referred as DMZ.
Most routers also support port ranges, so that you can forward a range like 5000-10000 to your server.
After you confirm that it's working you MUST shutdown the ports that aren't needed by the client to operate.

Re: Port Forwading for Server
That thing didn't worked, i bridged the connection between VMware and Host Lan, and now both using seperate ip.
So, i can run server without port forwarding.
Am still unable to run battleserver though.. :s
