@tanomist Im going to have a look at the server/client for font and time zone see if i can come up with something, the font is defiantly changeable, i believe its all through image though.
@omnija i too would like to work with somebody on a server, i would host my own however i just own a laptop and running a server on it would just be retarded, if i had a dedi of some sort i would def. host a developmental server for a dedicated team.
Host information:
Code:
* Represents a game server.
*
* Starting a server requires a parameter to be passed in, i.e. java GameServer -s low -p 500
* Here are the different settings:
* -low
* < 1.86ghz
* < 256MB Ram
* < 1mbps Up/Down Connection
* 75 Players
* -medium
* < 2ghz
* 512MB - 1GB Ram
* 1mbps Up/Down Connection
* 200 Players
* -high
* > 1.86ghz
* > 1GB Ram
* > 1mbps Up/Down Connection
* > 500 Players
Edit -
Tanomist, i found where the time is going wrong, in org.pokenet.server.feature > Time Service.java
Code:
/**
* Called by m_thread.start()
*/
public void run() {
try {
/*
* Parses time from a common server.
* The webpage should just have text (no html tags) in the form:
* DAY HOUR MINUTES
* where day is a number from 0 - 6
*/
URL url = new URL("http://pokedev.org/time.php");
BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(url.openStream()));
StringTokenizer s = new StringTokenizer(in.readLine());
m_day = Integer.parseInt(s.nextToken());
m_hour = Integer.parseInt(s.nextToken());
m_minutes = Integer.parseInt(s.nextToken());
in.close();
} catch (Exception e) {
System.out.println("ERROR: Cannot reach time server, reverting to local time");
/* Can't reach website, base time on local */
Calendar cal = Calendar.getInstance();
m_hour = cal.get(Calendar.HOUR_OF_DAY);
m_minutes = 0;
m_day = 0;
}
while(m_isRunning) {
//Update the time. Time moves 4 times faster.
m_minutes = m_minutes == 59 ? 0 : m_minutes + 1;
if(m_minutes == 0) {
if(m_hour == 23) {
incrementDay();
m_hour = 0;
} else {
m_hour += 1;
}
}
m_hour = m_hour == 23 ? 0 : m_hour + 1;
//Check if weather should be updated
if(System.currentTimeMillis() - m_lastWeatherUpdate >= 3600000) {
generateWeather();
m_lastWeatherUpdate = System.currentTimeMillis();
}
try {
Thread.sleep(60000);
} catch (Exception e) {}
}
System.out.println("INFO: Time Service stopped");
}
Looks as though it was getting the time from a php file located at "http://pokedev.org/time.php" which was prob just a simple php to retrieve the hosts time in a specific format, which is detailed as:
Code:
/*
* Parses time from a common server.
* The webpage should just have text (no html tags) in the form:
* DAY HOUR MINUTES
* where day is a number from 0 - 6
*/
And since it can not connect to the website it is just reverting to the local time of the machine that is running the server.
So if you want to "fix" this "error" you have to options,
1. Make a php file and upload it to a webhost, then edit the server to connect to said file.
2. Edit the server to only use local time rather than the php file.
Edit 2 -
Looks like the font is through .png files.
In the game client, org.pokenet.client > GameClient.java
Code:
m_fontLarge = new AngelCodeFont(m_filepath+"res/fonts/dp.fnt",m_filepath+"res/fonts/dp.png");
m_fontSmall = new AngelCodeFont(m_filepath+"res/fonts/dp-small.fnt", m_filepath+"res/fonts/dp-small.png");
I googled angelcodefont, and found this, try it out.
