Hello, I've been looking for the Cocolani Island game files for a while, and I finally did find them, however, I'm having trouble hosting the game locally on my PC.

Some general info about this game: It was developed back in 2011, it is a flash game that utilizes .SWF files. It uses SmartFoxServer to handle the multiplayer aspect of it all, and PHP files in order to access and modify its database that is to be used on MySQL. This game has great sentimental value to me, and I'd like to run it offline.

I've had trouble running the game initally: I had to download Flash Player Standalone 32, and when running the SWF file directly it spits an in-game error that says "Failed loading resources or invalid language." I eventually reached the conclusion that it wasn't able to access its own assets that reside in the same folder as the .SWF because it requires those assets to be hosted somewhere.

So I downloaded AppServ, copied everything to the www folder, and it ran perfect by inputting the localhost/cocolani/cocolani.swf link in the standalone flash player 32 program. However, when registering a new player, when it comes time to input the username, it hangs up on "Wait... checking availability of username." Also, when entering whatever username and password in the login information and pressing the login button, it immediately displays an error of "AVATAR DATA NOT AVAILABLE" Which leads me to believe this is a strictly database access issue, even though the mysql database is set up properly in the phpmyadmin thingymajig and is hosted locally on the appropriate port.

So now I'm stumped, and this is the only forum that has at least a handful of people interested in acquiring the cocolani files. Need your help yall, thanks!

Also, if you'd like the files, please DM me on this forum.

Solution
Hey all,
I uploaded my Smart Fox Emulator files to Github if anyone interested, which I think is the most complete emulator that is publicly available as of now.

I also updated and fixed some of the SWF bugs and missing SWF & XML files, also logins & registration, I really recommend using this version of the game files.

Here is the link (it also has a modified version of SFS Pro):

Regarding setting up the game this game requires an older version of XAMPP that bundles Apache and PHP.
The recommended version is XAMPP 1.x (PHP 5.x compatible) I'll be using .

You can find all XAMPP versions...
Well, that was quick, we got ONLINE!

Me and my friend from way over the continent we live in were able to join together within the same server!

How did we do it?

1. Download and set up Radmin

Both you and your friend(s) are gonna have to download Radmin, which is a better alternative than Hamachi, in that you don't have to sign up on an account, and the client limit is way higher at 50. This is a big server if you have many friends you wanna get together.

So you, as the host, have to create your network with the name and password. Share that name and password with your friends, let them join in. You will see their names pop up on your Radmin program. Great!

2. Modify your friends' Cocolani.swf to point to your Radmin IP

So now you have a special Radmin IP address, and we want your friends' game to look for this address in particular in order to connect to it. By default, Cocolani.swf points towards 127.0.0.1, which is your local computer. This is no good. So download FFdec, which is a swf file editor. Open cocolani.swf through it and go to this folder and this line specificially:

1747925506723 - [SOLVED] [TUTORIAL] Running Cocolani Island game on Localhost - RaGEZONE Forums

Tell your friends to go to line 125 within this script file, and to change the default IP you see highlighted then replace that with your Radmin IP.
(you don't have to do this on your end, you could also modify this file and distribute it to your friends instead of making them go through this)

Done!

NOTE: All of you need to use Flash Player Standalone 32.
The game will not work on your browser, or it would, but it won't connect.
On your standalone flash player, go to

So on you, the host, you have to keep the python server running, and to make sure your friends are present within the Radmin program and they are connected. On your friends' end, they just have to play on standalone flash player, they will connect automatically to your server.

Have fun! Contact me via DMs if you have any questions or inquiries.

Does this work on Windows 11? I tried opening the file using localhost/cocolani/cocolani.swf through XAMPP (inside the htdocs folder), but instead of playing the file, the browser just started downloading it. I’m guessing that happened because the browser didn’t recognize it as a Flash file.

After that, I tried running it directly using flash32, but it gave me the same "invalid language" error you mentioned. I even tested it on an older version of Firefox with Flash installed, and I still got the same error.

I also tried using both XAMPP and AppServ, and in both cases, I got the same result—even with the old Firefox setup. So I think the server setup is fine, and the issue might be with how the system handles the file.

I tested other .swf games too, and those only worked on Windows 7, not Windows 11. That’s why I’m wondering—is this compatible with Windows 11 at all?

I'm not sure it is, actually. I only tested this on a Windows 7 VMware machine, and it has worked thus far.
For the first error you are getting: use OR . Don't put the .swf file format in the link, the browser will figure it out, and also make sure you are using the chrome browser that has flash enabled.

For the "invalid language" error, its because of the "swf-5698" folder you have. If you wanna run the game on Flash Standalone 32 (You should anyway, I don't think the private server method i posted above is gonna work at all with browsers), rename that folder to just "swf" and run the game in flash32.

If you want to run this on browser anyway, just keep the folder name as is, and make sure the cocolani folder is present either in the www or htdocs folder, then use the links i gave you above.

Pretty sure this can run on windows 11 though, so apply the solutions i gave you and report back, please.

Hello, thanks for reaching out, it did Indeed fix some of it.

Now my situation is that I have the game server running. Although it had problems since the script according to GPT is outdated in python 3.10 and higher, I installed python 3.9 and works now. I have the server open

Hm, this is weird. I never encountered an error like this before. Seems to be a security measure preventing the game from making any outbound connections to the internet. It's not making any connection to the internet as a matter of fact, but flash32 sees the IP address and the scripts associated with connecting to a server and it freaks out and blocks it.

Try launching the flash32 program with administrator rights and see if it bypasses the security issue. On my VMware Windows 7 OS, every time i start flash32, it prompts me to run it with admin rights. Hit me up if that doesn't work

it took me hours to setup win7, but finally did. did all the setup it needed, server runs normal as on my win11. however the issue still the same
https://imgur.com/a/WIFBBNYinstead of showing me errors, I think it auto dismiss it, and on browser it says failed language something.

Although I did your fix of renaming swf-xxxx to swf, it fixed the adobe flash not the browser, so it is kind of the same issue still

EDIT: actually I think it's not connected because I turned the server off, browser couldn't connect but the flash player does still show me the login screen

Don't worry about the browser, its fine if it doesn't run. You can just rename the SWF folder back to the original and its gonna run, but I much prefer Flash32 over browser.

Just to make absolutely sure: Are you launching on Flash32? DO NOT launch cocolani.swf from the files directly, it will load the game but the server connection will not work. make sure to launch by putting it in the dialogue box that appears in here

also, the python server has no bearing on hosting the files, the python server is just responsible for the multiplayer aspect and the handling of the database, so make sure to launch the cocolani python server and leave it there running, and do what i said above

Great, are you getting the "اسم المستخدم اوكلمه المرور غير صالحه" error now? That means you are on the right path.

No, don't touch that file. Now we are done with hosting the cocolani folder and all of its content. Don't touch anything there.

Now go to your Python server, look for this file right here:

1748176121775 - [SOLVED] [TUTORIAL] Running Cocolani Island game on Localhost - RaGEZONE Forums

This is where the user data is stored, including the username and password, chief status, and moderator on/off switch. Now go ahead and download a program called SQLite DB Browser, and open the data.db file with it. Go to the second tab "Browse Data", and from the dropdown menu, choose "user"

There, you will find some user data already preloaded, and you will find that the password consists of strings of MD5 hash. Choose whatever username you like, and replace its password with this hash:

ff950169922f7a91cd88ae8fb3a1e141

This is the password for "admin"
So if you chose Turkitu from the list and replaced that username's password with this hash, the login credentials would be:
Turkitu
admin

Now save the database, relaod the server and try logging in. Let me know how it goes

Hey, thank you. it does now work, I thought the db was in the first folder not in server files.
Anyway, thanks again. I do have notes on to change the tutorial however so it should hopefully eliminate solving same issues over and over

I could rewrite it but I have a final exam coming up, maybe after. will see
Notes:
* when launching you mentioned either browser or flash32, for me it only works on flash32 in browser it starts downloading the swf again
* For python users 3.10 the server will NOT work, the __init__ I think needs to be reworked since a module was removed ( I chatgpt'ed it and it fixed it just fine, will link it when i'm free)
* It works on Win11
* Specify locations, it took me a bit to realize that it needed to be htdocs/cocolani/ and not htdocs/"Content of cocolani"
> Also DB location took me a long time to figure as the explaining emphasized on just working with cocolani folder
* Maybe reupload the db with pre-edited account to test first then edit if you wish

I'll help with that but give me a day or two to be free

Appreciate that brother. Well, I just hope whoever is gonna follow the tutorial reads the entire thread, cause i admit my tutorial is a bit shoddy and this back and forth between you and me clears things up quite a bit.

If you'd like, I can invite you to my private server to test things out, or you could invite me to yours : D

Ladies and gentlemen, WE DID IT!

View attachment 282693

Special thanks to CMDoCMD for pointing me in the right direction, and Turkitutu & co for their Python server files!

HOW TO RUN COCOLANI ON FLASH PLAYER/FLASH-ENABLED BROWSER:

1. Host the files locally on your computer

First off, download the Cocolani files here:

Then, go ahead and download either XAMPP (Place the files in the htdocs folder) or AppServ (Place the files in the www folder). Make sure after you are done, to launch the Apache service in order for the files to be hosted properly, this is where the game is going to connect to in order to pull the assets it needs to pull. This is a webgame, remember, so launching the cocolani.swf directly will do you no good.

Now verify the files are hosted by going to either your Standalone Flash Player 32/Chrome browser loaded with flash and enter this URL: . If it doesnt immediately throw an error when you do this, then you are golden.

Don't worry about the Login "تسجيل الدخول" button not working, we will fix that in the next step. Also, the registration system in this game is completely broken, so don't waste your time there.

2. Launch the Python server files

Download here:

Again, shoutout to Turkitutu for providing those files. There are some bad people out there that are trying to wipe this off the face of the internet, so if somehow this bad person ends up coercing Turkitutu into deleting those files, DM me and I'll provide them to you.

Not the first time this evil person does something like this. There was a youtube video showcasing the private server. As soon as I spoke about it, the video was mysteriously deleted the same day! Here's another funny coincidence too: This comment, after NEARLY 6 YEARS, was edited out for seemingly no reason. The fact of the matter is that the date they edited what they said out was around the time i uploaded my forum questions. Incredibly weird behaviour.

Anyway, after downloading the server files from the repo, make sure you got Python installed on your computer, then launch Main.py. You may have to install some dependencies, just look it up on youtube or google or something,

What the console should look like

What's happening here is that the game client is looking to connect to port 9339, it is hardcoded to do so. The server listens on 9339, and handles the login logic, and database queries from thereon. No need to set up a MySQL database or anything, because the data.db folder within the repo is where the player data is stored.

Now, when you input anything within the credentials, it should return a "اسم المستخدم او كلمه المرور غير صالحه" which is what we wanna see! Not "AVATAR DATA NOT AVAILABLE" like a raging feral chihuahua. Which is good! now its parsing the database correctly. Now, there are some usernames stored within the data.db folder already, but the passwords are hashed, meaning we cannot crack them. You cant insert any 123456 password in there either, because the password logic goes like this: the game client takes the password you entered (example: 123456) takes the MD5 hash of it (so that'd be 35fs435a1fs68as7f43as5f4a38sfsa354ff) then compares that against the hash within the database, and only then is it gonna let you in

There is no way to crack the hash, so you have to replace the hash thats already in the database with the hash the server receives from the client, like so:
View attachment 282695

In here, i entered 123456 as the password in the client, and the server receives the hashed version of it.

Now take that hash, copy it i mean, and go edit one of the user entries in the data.db folder using DB Browser (SQLite) [Download that too]

And now you can enter the game! If you have any questions, even if its 2030, please hit me up, i got email notifications on. Have fun!

Now the next step from here would be to go online with this. I'm talking a private server, where you and your friends can join together and have fun. I'll keep yall updated when that happens.

Hello bro,
I followed the steps you explained exactly, but I'm facing an issue: the login field does not appear. When I try to create a new account, it gets stuck while checking for the nickname. I also tried running it on Adobe Flash Player 32 as you did, but it gives me an error saying there is a problem accessing the data.
