  1. Damn kids, can't you read the sign? Don't walk on the petal patch!
  2. It's how I plan to be when i'm older older, popping dem footballs when da mandem kick 'em into my yard.
  3. Proof that you're an old man now - the kids think you're out to spoil their fun!

  7. Too much! Maybe I should be the new hotel manager...

I'll give you a throne on my birthday
  8. Man you Habbo knowledge far outweights the vast majority of this forum, the idea that you'd suggest anything Habbo related that was silly is itself silly.
  9. I know, I just didn't want my question to seem quite so silly I suppose on these forums I am pretty safe though! That and I spent a week building an awesome habbo folder and i'll never be able to use it...

ps, having to put : after an emoticon is bullshit
  10. Don't think so. Coke studio's was a little after 2001 and SOCK wasn't around for that long. :P It was probably loosely based on something similar though.
  11. Probably indeed! Maybe SOCK based? I think RobCity was the only other project that bought it but that's a Robbie Williams fansite now

  12. it was essentially Habbo with different furniture. I don't see why Sulake would develop an entirely new structure when they had one that would be ready to implement. It's deffo just Habbo's old code.
  13. That's what I was asking her - if it used the same protocol as the early FUSE games and if it was using the same encryption Habbo was. That's why I think she said it to get me to stop poking my nose in it
  14. I'm familiar with it. Saw it advertised on Otaku forums, not sure why she'd have to edit the "bytecode", which I assume she means is decompiled Lingo, don't believe that was done. The protocol is probably similar to old Habbo protocol "HELLO", "LOGIN", "SECRETKEY", etc.
  15. Have you seen this Coke Music server btw? CokeStudios | The Redevelopment (forum: Cokeelite) Some Amy girl is doing it, never heard of her before but she sounds like she knows what she's doing. She *says* she edited the bytecode but I'm not sure if that was her way to get me to stop asking too many questions...

To make the server I had to do a lot more than make a server. The protocol is not at all what you'd expect. In fact, to get the game working properly I had to make modifications to the bytecode in the game (and since the file format is completely undocumented, I had to figure everything out for myself).

Packetlogging my version of the game won't get you far. I've changed the protocol entirely.
Should be cool to see when it's done anyhow. From the videos it looks like she's gotten quite far.
  16. Oh, wow. So firewind's a thing, huh?
  17. You know it boy
  18. You're sooo dumb Dom, don't you know retros are the easiest way to make legal money on the internet
  19. mySQL for life anyway my friend. no matter where you're hosting, it's supported and it does it's job well. can't fault it.

the problem I find with actionscript is although it's widely used, tutorials (or complete online courses) are sparse and far and few between. Not as bad as shockwave but y'know.

On the other hand, i've been meaning to learn JS so i'd be pretty competant in basic AS pretty quickly after that but it'll just delay my goal even further. HTML5 and JS would be great but I don't know, I think there'd be a lot of user-end issues and development would be difficult as it stands now. Especially if it was just me or me and one or two people working on a free project y'know.
  20. Web Based (so no downloads would be necessary). Actionscript would probably be used for the client as Flash is installed on hundreds of thousands of machines. That or HTML5 + JS when the standard comes out. Server would use Java, Netty, Hibernate therefore i'd use MySQL as MongoDB may be faster but it's incredibly unsafe and has alot of issues with data vanishing etc.
