I already successfull convert and compile it with VS2008, but, the problem is not the code, but the c++ standart that so many changes in VS2008 (VC9)

for example std::copy itself, the variable holder m_buffer, have different allign in VS2008, so if you try to read buffer with same vs2003 method, like your code, you will get bugtrap, because the index will exced, I try to sub with one, for max index, but still does not compatible with db binary data (put on item, or iventory content)

right now, I stick with 2003, and still searching compatible way for coverting that method
