Fiesta Weapon Meshes - Nodes and how to add weapons?
Hey everybody
***Meshes,not Mehes x-x"***
I wanted to ask you people what i have to do to make my weapon appear ingame.
I have modeled a simple 2 handed weapon that i wanted to replace with the steel sword just for testing but my weapon is invisible.
Do I need a matching .dds file for it to be visible?Or can't i just create a mesh and add it to the game because important nodes might be missing?
Thats what it looks like in nifskope

re: Fiesta Weapon Meshes - Nodes and how to add weapons?
just copy the scene root into a weapon that already exists and hide the mesh for it.
re: Fiesta Weapon Meshes - Nodes and how to add weapons?
but hiding the other mesh wont hide it ingame...but i can see that pink sword now thanks.
Im using 3ds max 2010... i will google how to stop the other mesh from rendering.
re: Fiesta Weapon Meshes - Nodes and how to add weapons?
yes it does, open it in nifskope, right click the ninode where the mesh is, and click on flags, then click the hide check box.
u can do that or just delete the nitrishape node for it all together
re: Fiesta Weapon Meshes - Nodes and how to add weapons?
Right click the mesh of the other weapon or better the NiLoadGroup that contains the weapons meshes and hit Node then Delete Branch. Alternatively you could also replace meshes within the NiLoadGroup with your own mesh(es) (NiLoadGroup is to display different meshes depending on the distance from the camera. It's supposed to ease performance, because at longer distances you're seeing less geometry.)

Oh thank you. Do you know if it's possible to add effects like the +3 effect for example to the weapon?

ya totally possible, find it (or any effect) in reseffect folder and copy the "Scene Root" of the effect (but make sure your viewing the effect in "show blocks in tree") and paste the Branch into your Swords Nif file then just edit it, and mess around with it until you have it looking the way you want ingame. But like i said you can take any effect ingame and put it on a weapon just make sure you "loop" your flags. Enjoy (:
