Works just fine on phoenix.. It's just older version of groups :D
Groups have always worked on Phoenix.
You probably didn't see anything due to the way you linked the image. You can find and edit the directory of where the images are stored in the external variables. Just search for "group.badge.url="
Add something like this to your external var's,
group.badge.url=http://HOTELURL/c_images/groups/%imagerdata%.gif
Then add the badge you want for the group in to a folder in c_images,
Name the folder (groups),
The (%imagerdata%.gif) part of the above link will then define witch image you use for what group.
