Roll The Dice Mode [1.5]

Hello RaGEZONERs, how are you guys doing :):
After a long day, I had 1 hour free time. my friend yesterday showed me new mode that freestyle gunz has made, it's called Roll The Dice mode. So I decided to make it in my way, and release it.

What is this mode?
This mode is as it's called Roll The Dice, which means, each time your character respawns, it will throw a dice, and you will get a number, each number has a special ability, your character will have this ability during his round, and after you die, you will revive with new dice roll, and will give you another ability.

How do I play this mode?
I decided to make it, as freestyle did, with roomtag.
Usage: [RTD]
in room's name/title

How many rolls there are in this mode?
I made only 1-6 numbers (it's cool cuz dice has 6 faces in real life)

What is the ability for each number?

OnDamaged = the damage you receive not giving you want to multiply the actual damage with the antilead not that

I could give you a list of things that are wrong, the room tag activation being one of them, but that wouldn't be helpful in the slightest.

So, I'll say this much:
You need to worry about people trying to exploit this. There are a lot of security misteps you've taken.
Also you tied the roll to being on ZCharacter, which means whenever ANYONE spawns, everyone gets a new roll.

It's a start but honestly it's better to go back to the drawing board with this.

Oh in ZCharacter might be right this is really f**** up xD but u know it is easy to do this(ill fix it later), and yeah i have made alot of gunz hacks before, and i know that it's vulnerable...
I didn't post this for security reason, i just posted the code, and who ever wants to protect it, it's up to him/her..
I quit gunz, and i don't care, and yeah 1 more thing i know what u mean about room tag/ i did that on purpose too :/
I'm not the Tannous used to be 2 years ago in ragezone, i learned alot and alot, i have blocked alot of exploits not only for gunz, maybe cuz i am learning CS xD

You should re-code this. A few tips to start off with:

1. Create a function to determine whether or not RTD is enabled. E.g.

PHP Code:

bool ZIsRollTheDiceEnabled() {     return (strstr(ZGetGameClient()->GetStageName(), "[RTD]") || strstr(ZGetGameClient()->GetStageName(), "[rtd]")); }

2. As for the variable "Tannous", give it a proper name and save it once. You're saving it at 3 places, that's just a waste. Add it to ZGame or ZMyCharacter, create a get function and you're good to go. It would even be better to create an abstract class that handles all abilities, but a switch would do fine, just don't save the same information more than once (though there are certainly exceptions).

3. The whole set max and current HP/AP, do it once. Don't make the same function calls three times in a row. E.g.:

What I meant is that you're generating a random number to determine the dice roll. That's owkay, but you only have to save that generated number once, you're saving it in ZCombatInterface, ZMyCharacter and the movable module (whatever that name is) using your forum username. Your best bet is, assuming you're not using a gamemode, to save the random number only once. I opted for either ZMyCharacter and ZGame, both are a good option. You could for instance add a variable in ZMyCharacter (private, name it something like "m_nRTDNumber") and on the initialization function of ZMyCharacter you could check whether or not roll the dice mode is enabled (by calling ZIsRollTheDiceEnabled) and if so, generate a random number. Then, create a (public) function that returns an integer and name it GetRTDNumber. Then, you can call ZGetGame()->m_pMyCharacter->GetRTDNumber() anywhere from your code (assuming the correct headers are included) and access your randomly generated number.

Very well, I just didn't try it in the first place XD, fixed that guys, now it's good.

And for everyone, make the tips given by Solaire, I agree with his tips, they are better..

This seems like it would be fun for only the first time. I can imagine myself getting bored/annoyed at this mode really fast.

Still, I can see you put a lot of work into it and you're creating a whole new mode, that's commendable. Congrats on the code, Tannous! It really is awesome. I just don't see myself implementing it.

I don't think you quite understand what people are trying to tell you.
The problem is that your code is insecure. Considering you wrote it, it's up to you to ensure that your code is secure. How can you expect anyone to use your code if it has security holes?

I don't think you understand what I said, since I don't care about gunz its self anymore, I don't care if private server gets hacked or not, i'm just trying to make new stuff, not only for releasing them, but also to discover and leanr more about programming (i don't work only on Gunz codes), and yeah the purpose of this release wasn't to give you security codes and how to secure this, it was ONLY for giving you the way of how to do this mode.
just stop trying to convince me to release it, it's up to me not to you :): my work on gunz is 1% of all my work !

Well actually to recieve some respect is to release complete source codes, in my eyes it's a must and just a favour to make it secure already before releasing. We want that our code is using after all right ? I had to say this since i think this the main point after a release isn't it?

I'm not convincing you to release jack shit. The issue here is the code that you wrote is insecure. Nobody else is responsible for fixing your security holes. The fact that you're going on about "security codes" shows your complete incompetence, which I generally wouldn't be too fussed about if one displayed the right attitude, but your attitude towards this whole situation is disgusting and I hope you never get a job in the software engineering industry whilst you maintain such a bad attitude.
