Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
Oooh...Have you heard the news?!
Another day, another Beta-testing group in Habbo.
“What is it this time?!” we hear you typing frantically… Well, Habbos and gentlemen … *drum roll* …It’s the renewed Habbo Web platform!
A highly skilled team of coffee-fueled developers and designers have been hard at work creating the next generation of web platform for Habbo, and we are finally ready to release it into the wild!
Well, almost…We’re ready to start the next stages of closed beta-testing, which is why we need you!
We are randomly selecting a group of 100 lovely lab-rat Habbos, who have committed to spending the next week testing this new platform with us. The aim of this initial closed testing is to allow a smaller group of users to give us more targeted and direct feedback in these early stages.
Didn’t get selected this time? Don’t worry! We will have multiple phases of testing, so there will be plenty of chances to be chosen.
If you have any questions about this project, please refer to our Q&A below:
Q&A
How were the users selected? / Why wasn’t I chosen?
This testing group has been randomly selected from Habbo users, accessing the .COM Hotel.
Can I sign up for future testing?
There are plenty of Beta-testing projects in the near future. If you are interested in joining us for future Beta-testing groups, keep your eyes peeled for azure articles and/or minimails with details of how to join.
What is ‘Habbo Web Platform?”
This project is to test the platform set to replace the current Habbo Web, which includes the 'me' page.
The renewal will not affect the current Habbo client.
When will the renewed web be launched?
Dependent on how closed beta and open beta testing phases go, we are hoping to launch sometime in December 2014!
This a BIG project for all of use here at Habbo and we hope you are just as excited as we are! Your feedback is invaluable to us.
Happy testing!

What are your thoughts about this?
Re: Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
My thoughts are; good luck to them. All it is is the theme that the /Credits page uses :P I personally, don't think it's going to look too good. But we'll have to wait and see.
Re: Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
Probably getting new features. I mean, what regular things could you test on a normal website...?

pictures? Why not just rip the HTML source so we can use it?
Would be fun at the time the BETA ends we'd be already using the site layout for several months :P:

Third Party Advertisement was added above ads on pages......

Re: Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
Hopefully they will base their new client on new HTML5 techniques and utilize things as WebSockets, the <canvas> API, etc. ^^
Edit:
"The renewal will not affect the current Habbo client."
Sulake just dug their hole in the ground an awful lot deeper. Now they're wasting valuable time on things the user now-a-days doesn't even care about (.. instead of fixing the platform as a whole so they don't die in this age).
Ugh, such a sulake move.
I guess we as community must fix it ourselves, which will take time, but we will succeed, in the end.

Reminds me of these kids' sites full of flash games lmao.
Re: Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
At first I thought Sulake was going to make the transition to HTML5 that they should have done many years ago, but nope. Instead, they decided to re-create their dumb ass CMS which a group of college students could have done for a week-projects. Who would even care about them beta testing a CMS, they are always making small changes to their CMS from time to time anyways.
Re: Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
I wouldn't care too much about the whole beta-test thing, because in the end the updates aren't noticeable anyway because the updates are pretty stupid that they are going to add.
Re: Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
Why so dramatic for such a simple CMS theme change? I mean c'mon.. It' just a new theme.. Users spend way more time on the client then looking at the CMS.
They should invest in working on a new client :O That would be good. And add multiple versions :): That'd be really interesting as well.

I agree, Why the hell did they just make beta just for the CMS? They should of changed the CMS theme and at least made the client look better....

It would be even better if the cms and the client are combined... I mean, people straight into the client, nobody cares to browse some pages.
Having for example the news articles in the hotel overview, maybe make a room "News paper" with some nice interactions so diffrent articles popups.
Or maybe re introduce user pages but then you have to pick your home room, where you can place the so called widgets, background options and other things. (widgets should be as a furni, but then with interactions like guestbook wil popup some sort of message board and in the room it would display some random messages)....
Just some lose thoughts!

That's my idea of the perfect Habbo ;)
Re: Closed Beta-Testing for Renewed Web
New web system? Yeah, quick redesign and a few pages added, nothing too interactive.
Next they decide to move everything into the client, and get rid of the CMS. I thought flash websites died out?
They have too much all over the place. An iPad app, yet the client is still flash.
HTML5, canvas etc if you want a new 'web system'.
What to they even mean by 'Habbo Web System'? They got rid of most of the elements on it anyway.
