It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
So in an effort to make the outerworld the place it once was and used to be I'm going to be avoiding crapzilla like it was a plague of locusts carrying the bubonic plague infested with aids, gonorrhoea and genetic idiocy. With this in mind I realised that I've been far too quiet around here so I'm going to ask questions to everyone and if you don't answer those previously mentioned locusts are coming for you.
So here's my first question which I will follow with my own answer.
What is/are your passion(s) in life and why do they mean so much to you?
In my case my foremost passion if Games. Playing games, making games and designing them is my main passion in life. I love the feeling of seeing something I alongside a team of other people have brought to the world inspiring joy and fun into the lives of others. I'm passionate about cooking but I will never be a pro chef or I'll end up losing that passion that makes me want to experiment with my every meal. Martial arts has always been another passion of mine but it's clearly not as strong to me as it is to others (I'm looking at you sexy exy:P) but it has always been a part of my life and it's effected the way I see myself and the world around me.
Those are just a few of mine to start things off, now it's the rest of your turns to do the same. Post in as much detail as you can with as much as you are willing to share. Any spamming, retarded comments or stupid/single word answers will get deleted because I know peeps who can make things happen.
So go forth and answer my challenge and maybe, just maybe you might find treasure at the end of this great and arduous quest.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
For me, my number one passion is martial arts training and competition, whether it's for myself or helping others, it's my major passion for sure. After that, but still included is the pursuit of health, and again that's for myself and to help others. I've now easily taught between 1 and 2 thousand people, not including anyone I saw for a day or a single session. And a very close 3rd would have to be the playing of video games!
I also love to travel, and as often as possible I tie that into my martial arts training, competing, and education. Like Flameing, I've been as far as Japan and to a few places in between here and there, most often for the purpose of training and competition, but even if it's not, I still train ;)
I used to play a mixture of console and PC games, but over the years as consoles got worse and worse, I really stuck with the PC gaming. Very slowly learning how to build and rebuild my own computer, and a little coding along the way never hurt.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Helping people is definitely my number 1 passion. There are so many things I enjoy and love doing, but nothing comes as close to helping people.
Why that? Life can be rough, we all have those phases, for some it's their daily life, due to all the shit that has happened in the past, or because of a mental illness. Whatever it is, our strength is to help each other, every single day, and those who you help today, can be the ones that help you or someone else tomorrow. Without it, we all fall down.
On top of all of that, I feel good doing it, I get a great feeling of accomplishment when I successfully help someone make a positive step in their life, nothing feels quite like it.
I don't have a specific way that I prefer to help people, whether they come in messed up due to a psychosis, or people that have been sitting sitting at home for a long time and need help to perform in a job again.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
What is/are your passion(s) in life and why do they mean so much to you?
Well first of all, its my family and friends, without them I am nothing. My children mean more to me than any one or anything, infact I would do anything to keep them safe. Other things? Gaming, I love to game, the human interaction of MMO's etc cut away a lot of the BS of real life, people don't have to pretend to be something there hero is not, they play it as they are. It gives me chance to escape my demons LOL
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
The three who responded with awesome answers to the question are awesome. The rest of you are pussies.
New question!
My question today is a simple one that we've all been asked since childhood but we never really give a good answer to.
What is your favourite colour and why?
My favourite colour is red, what a surprise there, and it's been my favourite colour ever since I could breath oxygen. Something about it always drew me to it and always resonated within me. It was years later when I realised that it wasn't just the beauty of the colour itself that resonated with me but it's meaning. To me red represents passion, love, energy, blood, the wildness of life and the cruelty it can show, and the anger of someone who has been pushed further than they should have been. All of those representations also reverberate within my own life and personality more than I ever realised during my childhood and like anyone else if asked why I liked the colour I would respond with "Dunno, I just do".
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
ah I was going to reply to the first question but walking around asda trying to not go crazy with my mother talking to herself...
Anyway,
My favourite colour is purple. I also like blue, pink, green, teal, red and black.
But the most favourite is purple.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I've always liked yellow. Not sure why, but always have. I hardly have anything yellow though, but my Nokia Lumia 920 is very much yellow. :P
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
What is your favourite colour and why?
Are you sure your not from the Holy grail? is the next question going to be What is the airspeed of an unladen swallow?
Back to the question, I have always loved the colour purple, it has a calming effect on me, I would say it goes back to before I can remember some connection to it and feeling calm and safe.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Passions, well if you would ask 100 guys from todays generation what is their passion, 95 of them would answer "gaming". Not it only that it provides you with world that you will never have, but it can also provide the safety of the internet cable against bullies and god knows what other plagues. With this in mind I too like gaming, and for that I bought a Tegra 4 phone and a MOGA controller to it, so I can play, ALL THE TIME!
But as for my passion, anything goes with what I can spend time with. That can be TV, Games, Girls, and PC ... PC again and of course, PC. Some people say I've got somekind of "internet" addiction. When it comes to what I like to do the most on PC, well, I like design, I like to create, and I like to code ... the last one is a bit hard, because I only code frontend, which is highly under-rated, they say it's not even coding, and it ain't worth anything. Would like to see some people have their bare PHP running though, without my frotend, but that's out of the scope of this thread.
My other passion is to learn. Not from books, and not from school/academy whatever, but more like from the internet. And only what falls under History, Science, and Technology.
Watching movies is one of my other greatest passions, unfortunately I've seen most of the movies that really interested me so far. And I so hate to always wait for Hollywood to release new stuff that I like. What do I like? Action/Thriller/Mystery/Sci-Fi/Comedy and a very few select Drama movies.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I have always loved blues and especially baby blue just because it is such a calming colour.

African or European?
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
What is your favourite colour and why?
Blue, especially Royal Blue. Why? I'm not exactly sure. I suppose it's calming, like @Shoelace mentioned. Not too bright, not too dark, just the right color, ya'know.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Red for me too, growing up I always preferred red over other colours. I guess it's representative of my fiery passion :P

I too am a fan of purple (Which is why I have this sub) but it needs to be either a deep purple or an almost white purple.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Today's new question is an odd one, Would you rather have a tail and the abilities that naturally come with having one or wings?
Personally I'd go for the tail simply because a tail would increase my natural balance and could be use like an extra appendage while wings wouldn't let me fly unless I had the torso muscles of superman and hollow bones to go with them, but gliding would still be possible depending on certain factors. Also I could tell people that I'm a saiyajin xD
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Wings, cos I would pimp slap people with them, plus once I had worked them out enough I am sure I could use them to fly!
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
A tail would be cool, because I would swing it like puppies whenever I see a fine lady on the streets. Girls would love it! I see no other use of it though, hanging from trees and whatnot is not my style anyway.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Wings, I already have a massive 'tail'. ;)
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I would want a tail just so I could chase it.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Tail as well cause I can't see any way that it would go wrong, but a whole lot of scenarios that it can go oh so right.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Tail. And I'd assume being a saiyan come with it
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
A tail would probably help me out the most, but im oh so tempted to pick wings!

Same with me until I realised the unintentional self imposed limits of not mentioning that you'd have a body type to go with the new appendage(s) xD
Today's question is another strange one. Do you think yourself to be spiritual in any way and what kind of spirituality would you describe it as?
I am by no means a religious person but I am incredibly spiritual. To me the world is filled with infinite mystery that we will most likely never unlock because we're too busy looking in other directions. Einstein's idea of an infinite universe where anything is possible yet only mathematically improbable weighs heavily on this spirituality because I also see myself as a learned individual and a man of science, so to speak but science isn't a religion it is simply a way of explaining the universe around us which gives me the hope that one day we'll fnid and explain all sorts of bat shit crazy ideas. And if Einstein is right then there's a planet out there in the vastness of time and space in which pokemon are real ^_^
I do not believe in ghosts or the supernatural but I do not discount their existence especially after having a few encounters myself. I do believe that there is more to what we experience than our senses can reveal but I am not stupid enough to box myself into a specific thought or idea when there's no way of knowing or testing for the truth yet.

Finally someone I can relate to. Except the ghost encountering. I never had that. You pretty much described me so I can't really describe myself anymore :(

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
New question!
How do you generally start the day and what's your favourite part. Personally I start of with a massive shit followed by a morning cup of tea and a cigarette. Then I clean up, get dressed and get ready for whatever I have to do that day. My favourite part is the bit where I don't wake up because I only turn on my alarm clock when I have to be up in the morning. I fucking hate mornings. Pancakes are good though.

I start the day by pulling my hand aside to the desk and grabbing my phone to check for over-nigth notifications that I missed & check Skype & check /f425/ section of RaGEZONE. Then I enjoy a nice cup of camomile tea (not coffee, because I'm allergic to lactose). My favorite part is when I have a day off and I can sleep for another few hours.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I don't ever like the start of my day.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Waking up from my alarm if I had college, check my phone then iPad. Probably then wash my hair and then get the bus to wherever I need to be that day.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I try to follow the same format each day. If I have somewhere to be it's usually bathroom followed by lots of water, followed by bananas or oatmeal, usually while checking emails. If i dont have somewhere to be right away I still go to the bathroom like clockwork and follow up with plenty of water, then ill delay my first meal if i want a short fast while i stretch, and move onto the internets.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Eat, Internet, sleep, repeat! I get up with my daughter, feed her, change her, then get coffee and get online, then depending on the day its farm work. Repeat.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
On weekdays, Wake up at 7:30, throw my alarm out the window, make my bed, get dressed, go to town, buy a new alarm, get the bus and go to college.
On weekends, wake up at about 10-11, make my bad, get dressed, meet friends and go drifting somewhere.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I start my day around 4-6 pm due night shifts, first thing I do is check my phone for messages, which there are usually quite a few of, because well, everyone else was up. I answer a bunch, get out of bed, take a piss, grab some food and go on ze internetz.

If you had to have a third nipple that lactated would you suckle a dying unicorn foal knowing it was the last of it's rainbow pissing kind?
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I guess you guys really don't like unicorns xD
New question!
Do you talk to yourself? Why and how often?
Yes, all the damn time and because I make good conversation. Mostly I end up thinking out loud to myself or having mass discussion on seriouse topics which helps me find a way to resolve them. It's kind of like the senate from star wars except with more fireballs, dragons and the occasional flying candy cane.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day

I require more information about the size of the third nipple and what colour the unicorn is, before I can give an appropiate answer.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
New Question!
What do you think of democracy? does it work and do you think it's worth following?
The way of the world is to show us democratic processes to our face on the subjects that catch the medias and common persons attention while all of the real and powerful decision making is done behind closed doors and usually in the least democratic way possible. I do think that as an idea democracy is one we should strive to achiev but in reality the democracy we have in place is more like a turn based dictatorship in which some people get longer turns than others and every single choice for dictator is the same kind of shiny turd as the rest.
To put it simply, I think the form of democracy our governments use is full of shite and that real democracy will be far more difficult to achieve but could have greater and more profound effects on all our lives.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
What do you think of democracy? Its a joke, Marxism is the only way forward, but people look down on it as they cannot be there greedy selves. Also why are you showing off my 3rd nipple?
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Democracy is mostly about voting for what you're told is right and wrong. A lot comes from the way you are raised, the rest of it is taught by the media etc, mostly by people we 'trust' to tell the truth.
An absolute bullshit argument can be made convincing when told by the right person, whereas a well thought argument can be considered garbage when told by the wrong person.
That said, it beats something like dictatorships, not just because they could fuck you up with crazy shit, but it's also because people want the feeling that they get a chance to influence how things are going, and hey, even those who don't vote, can at least bitch about how it doesn't matter anyway.
But yeah, democracy also allows us to punish, assuming we got more then 2 major parties, which countries such as the US and UK are lacking, so you end up voting for either someone who tells you that they are gonna fuck you, or voting for someone who tells you they won't fuck you, even though you know they will fuck you.

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I love how this thread has over 2000 views and yet only 57 posts from the same handful of people. You guys are awesome, the rest of you are pussies.
New question!
How do you get to sleep at night?
I know the question seems easy but for a lot of people getting to sleep can be a real challenge and the resulting lack of sleep has a massive effect on their lives. Some find it difficult due to illness while others are struck psychologically. Personally I try to read a book before bed, for one it's just enjoyable to read, in my opinion at least, and it helps relax my mind for the hard job of dreaming. Sometimes however I find myself way to wired to sleep and I lay awake for hours simply making the attempt to fall into dreamland but the one thing I try to do every night is make sure that my monitor is off and I'm not looking at a screen of any kind for at least half an hour. I t seems to help quite a bit especially when considering blue light emanations from digital screens.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
I usually watch something, I just grab my tablet, put it on my bed and just watch whatever, usually does the trick.
Of course there are times that I don't sleep that well, but it's rare. About 2 months ago I slept like shit though, my contract was ending and I had no new job, so the closer I got to end of my contract, I just got more anxious and usually slept like 6 hours max.
-

Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
So the question of technology and it's effect on society has been coming up in conversation a fair bit during the last week so I'm going to bring it up again here.
What is your opinion on technology and the efect that it has on society and the individual.
In my honest opinion I do not think that technology itself is to blame for ay changes to the individual or to society. All of those changes are braugt on by the choices people make and in this case it's the choice to disconnect from others in life because they are connected digitally i.e. facebook and social media. Kids aren't reading anymore and more and mor of them are getting bored even though they have resources and fun shit to do in their vicinity almost 24 hours a day. I don't blame technology for the negative impactats on society or the individual. I blame the choices and consequences of said choices made by society and the individual. Technology is simply a tool like any other and it is the person who wields it that decides what effect it will have on life.
-
Re: It's time for Flameingskulls Question of the day
Technology is something that is part of the package when a civilisation advances, and society becomes better learned. Even tho it is our choice whether or not to detached from technology, it will somehow come full circle, and affect us one way or another. I agree with Flameing, as to technology is not to be blamed, as it is something that is unavoidable.
Majority of the world is already digitalised, as in i would not be able to communicate with you guys in a forum if there's no such thing as internet. We can call our spouses and family half the world over cuz there is a thing such as a satellite, as in comparison 20 years ago i would have used a phone, 30 years ago, my parents would have used letters via air mail.
Therefore, technology for me is a thing of convenience. Utilise it efficiently to maximise our daily lives, but not abuse it as in staying as a shut in and miss out on the living.
