[Help] Players/Zombies (Update) Lag
Hey guys.
I know many threads have been posted about this, yet I think there's no clear explanation and certainly there's no fix at all.
So let's start with my server specs.
Dedicated Server:

This runs a TeamSpeak 3 Server and my VPS.

I properly configured a Failover IP as a dedicated ip for my VPS, and linked the Virtual MAC of the VPS network adapter to the IP.

So I am using KVM to virtualize this. The CPU is not the issue.
Running 5 Colorado servers:
I think the VPS should be enough to run 5 full 50 player servers, not sure though.
The lag I'm talking about is the well known updating lag where zombies/players break and rubberbrand, I think this isn't CPUs nor RAM's issue, disk isn't aswell for sure as it is fast while the servers are running.
The issue isn't ping either as I have 60-65ms ping, nor is it an issue on my or other tester's end.
This is the teamspeak 3 server statistics.

I think that the issue is that the packets sent by the server are somehow lost.
I am using DNC's original files as I want to edit it all by myself. The ones found in here: http://forum.ragezone.com/f791/tutor...erver-1010574/

I am not an expert but I'm not a newbie either, I have some experience with programming languages hence why I believe I can do this, but I'm struggling to fix the lag issues on my server and I wanted something else rather than a "workaround", even though I will reduce the 100 Tickrate that the servers originally run in as this isn't counter strike.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that yesterday we were testing (3 players at the airport) and everything seemed fine (original 100 tickrate).
Re: [Help] Players/Zombies (Update) Lag
It has nothing to do how good your server is. Somewhere in the code there is a massive issue.
Re: [Help] Players/Zombies (Update) Lag
But what exactly is wrong? Has anyone fixed this on their own?
Is it packet loss? Packets are too big? What is it exactly? De-sync?
Re: [Help] Players/Zombies (Update) Lag
So, quick update, not sure if any way related to this but I found a major performance flaw in the game server source code. Will post a thread about this.
