About 2 years? You don't even have the latest patches they offer and if you do they'll shut down your server. Thing is with PW you always have to be behind them or you're out of the business.
Yea you better stay out there for a few, if its not even on PWE you can take a few years.. Either tho diffirent from the chinese server and the International one is that china will design a fully new game for ''World 2" on international they will provide a patch with the new classes.
it may not take long, but it might even take longer than it did for us to get newer than 1.2.6 files. no one knows
And what is this doing in DEVELOPMENT anyway?

But either way everyone knows that even IF this update (and i doubt this) will bring pw back alive the people who have them online first will get the newest people. But i doubt that this update will be a ''game changer'' because when earthguard was there it didn't helped alot either.
Well , i think the private servers could do even better then actual pwi , PWI creates content because of their experience and probably tools + team , here on ragezone we are a bigger team when i first joined these forums ( many years ago) developement was growing really high.
The problem is that the content was kept same and same and same , just a few modifications , mostly visual things.
The ones that were indeed developers were able to make awesome things , some of the best are Vendetta , Devastation and Blue Dragon , even tho they did not have "special things" in what means gameplay , since we all use what our mom gives use (PW China).
At the moment we can consider that the forum has found most of the things about Perfect World and the developement has gone into a really high level of experience , but we sill do not have 100% unique content ( only few things that were done by some kind persons in some 3d modeling tool).
I still haven't seen any customised towns with custom buildings , any 100% created from 0 weapons , no new things implemented in the game functions.
Having a server on first place from the tops does not make you a good developer too , i mostly belive that being on first place just happends , since most of the private servers are good enough to be on 1.
I loved , and i will always love perfect world and also ragezone , it is like a school for most of us , and each one of us is a teacher and a student.
PWI continues to create and create content because of private servers they know private servers can be better and to avoid the comming death they keep creating new content , which makes the game suck more because it gets harder and harder , of course that they create content to attract new players knowing that most of old players wont come back.
But its also generally known that there are the ''experienced server owners'' , the regular people that do it for hobby and as last theres the people who don't search, never like something they used from someone else and never give any credit. :D
I think that's what made it like it is now..
