Need help about hosting a Aion 4.0 priivate server.

Hi ragezone !

Nice to meet you all, so heres the trouble .
I've downloaded the Aion 4.0 Instant server and i managed to make the server online, up and runing in localhost.

Besides that, with some documentation ive managed to run the server on hamachi network interface and some of my friends succesfuly connectet using the no-ip dll .

Now, i know im a noob, but heres what i'm not sure, i dont know what svn is, and i donw know how to compile/decompile the server .

From what i know, more changes can be made if the server is decompiled and worked on the decompiled files.

But, leave that there, that is not the question i wana ask you .

My questionn is, can i host my server ?

I mean, i know the 4.0 is already 1 click compiled server, and i imagine i can host the server, right ? But what server should i command ?

Ubuntu ? And if ubuntu, wich version ?
And if the server is commanded and i reciive the ftp login information, after i will upload the server, everithing will be easy ? .

Those are some basic question that i strougle with and i hope you guys can answer it .

Also another question i have, wich is the most stabile and bugless server ?
I have the 4.0 with the 4.0 client on NA, from what i saw, there are some flying bugs, item-shop bugs, group bugs, instance bugs, spawn bugs and a lot of quest bugs.

Dont understand me wrong, i didnt expect a prefect unbugged server, but i just wana ask you, should i continue working on my 4.0 server and debugging the server or should i try another version ?

so ok, let start step by step answering you thread

about server run in common:
server that available to download on web - 90% will be java based Aion Emulator
so ok, to run that emulator no need any hamachi or other web server!!!
web server is need only to run web script for some bonus option of server management and to run server with portable version of java and mysql.
so, to run you server and make it available to connect from outside - just need to change server config files and change ip in data base-no web server is need!!!
so, ok what is need in common to run server with outside client connection:
1.)compiled and working server files(LS,GS,CS)
2.)set config files to your host ip(not localhost) and set same ip in ls data base(gs server ip)
3.)installed and set up jdk or jre and mysql on pc
4.)start to run server =)

about svn:
svn - is online project code storage(in simple enplane)
in aion servers project svn is used mostly, to make available team work of many peoples =)

about server version - compiled decompiled =)
if you will decompile server - you will be unable to run it =)
compile - mean make working version from source files
decompile - mean make from working version source files(some part of info can't be restored, because in compile process will be erased - example - comments for code)

about server version
if you plane is to run and manage own server - for sure you will need to use server version that you will be able to find source files!!!
why? simple =) 70% of changes that need to make with server need to make in source file not in compiled version =)

about server os
need to understand that you will use public host - so need bigger security as possible
so if you have a loot of experience in IT to set up all that need to close all security holes - can use windows base os
otherwise *nix base os
don't forget about hardware for server pc - java will need a loot of ram =) and good Internet connection speed(both: up speed/down speed) to run server without lag

about server version without bug =)
even official servers are max 80-90% bugles =)
but you are using free source version =) so be ready to hard work for bug fix or hard pay for peoples who will do that for you =)
and yep - you can find free bugles version in web - 2.0-2.5 but not 4.0-4.5 =)

so i think i answer 80% of you thread =)
and just info for thinking - peoples are spending a loot of time to make server bugles or ready to pay 10k for working server, but you wish to have all done and for free? dude, it really time to grow up and stop believe in dreams =)

What dedicate supports java platform and a aion server ?

Better just pay some one to set all that you need, really.
What should you command??? ok - you don't know about any gm command and you wish to run public server???
You wish to make another on public server full of bug - sure, go...
Server will be down in few days from time that other users will enter it - because it will be full of bug ready to use and with server owner without and understanding how and what to do with server-sure, go..
RTFM!!! or find someone who will support all service to compile, fix, and will support that server!
Dude check and read this forum - all other thread and in 80% you will be able to find all answers - because they are already answered - but you not wish to read!

And maybe finally try to use search on web - example google.com to find dedicated server or hosting
with java support - we are not web search forum =)
And about supporting something - ask this question in support team of hosting they will answer!

My 1 click server actualy its on my pc about 4 month now, and i dont wish topublic my server full of bugs .
I dont wanna ausre that its possible to host it and work it .
And i readet a lot of topics, but altough, thanks for youre help .

By the way, i preffer to do it all by my self in order to pay someone .
Im willing to learn and dedicate my self to this project .

Im not an idiot as you think me, i was just aswering some question that i expect a profesional like you to answer, and thats it .
I wished to host my server just for me, a Test-Server to see al funcionality on a live server .

4 month of server run and still question - how and where to control server - sure, you are powerful admin with a lot of knowledges and not an idiot =)
i even can't imagine what you do with server 4 month if you are still unable to control it =)
for sure you read a lot of topic and it really hard to find gm command =)
you totally not understanding difference in server state : live server, host server, test server
and finally try to read answers and use search - all answers that you ask already answered in this forum 100%

"Test-Server to see al funcionality on a live server" - read my answers few post up, about setting up local server to run public access - 5min job
