Arena respawn after dying
Hey all!
I'm working on an expansion to Arena and I came a cross a problem.
After my character dies it doesn't re-spawn in the same place it died (although it should!)
What I did notice is the area in which the re-spawn happens - and it's persistent.
Does anyone know how to fix this??
Re: Arena respawn after dying
maybe you can check terrain7.att in server side with pentium tools .att editor and see that area where it is and why it spawns there (which color) it is painted with, and normally i think its GS thing and cannot be changed but if you find something out, thats good.

It's almost exactly the center of the map.
And I don't really know how to handle the GS (my friend does that).
Anyhow... the respawn only happens after I changed to my new Terrain7.att - trying to rewrite it in PT even though its a lot of work... :/
Re: Arena respawn after dying
Well if you believe there is other server files which has fixedt terrain7.att get it and try it.
Re: Arena respawn after dying
Hoped for another solution....oh well...
Thanks anyway :)
Re: Arena respawn after dying
there is no other solution imo if you dont know how to code the gameserver etc.

Ok... I figured it out! (Quoting you to let you know ^^)
I saw The Punish3r's work and I finally noticed his trick!
I took all 3 maps (2 of his and mine) and overlapped them...
And what I found is an area in which I always respawned is in one of his maps - but not on the other.
I concluded that the arena is coded like this:
If you die respawn at 124 113 153 138 (those are somewhat the cords).
If those cords aren't available respawn at the same spot!
So it might need some GS tweeking but I don't know how - so I decided to work around that area (I had my city there - few hours of work! :( )
Cheers!
Soon a result!

that green square in the middle of the map is responsable for respawn ... if u make that a safe zone or pvp/ pve zone youl will respawn there after u die ... if that is a red zone (u cant move through there) u will respawn where u die. The thing is all this sh33t is coded in gameserver (all of them) and u can change tha way it works only if u have dthe sources and u know coding ... or u can do it the noobish way (like i did) by plaing with allowed or not allowed zones .
Good luck! ... and sorry for not repling sooner!
